I liked the '55 and '58, but the '32 is the one I would want.

I agree, I like the 32's but between just those two, I like the 55 more.

The '55...but I always identify with the bad guy...and the coupe is yucky yellow.

  5. ... I'm a Ford guy all the way but if it had to be as they were, I'd go with the '55. They are both bad ass cars but I'm not big on the fenders and color on Milners car and even he said the '55 was faster, plus it's not like the coupe still had Ford power.

'Ya gotta love that the greatest story-teller of our generation........the great George Lucas.......I mean c'mon, remember that this is the man that created Star Wars and Darth Vader.........had to come up with an evil villain car to go up against the hero, the good guy John Milner in his sparkling white T-shirt and bright yellow '32 Ford, he chose an evil, black '55 Chevy 2-door sedan to be the villain in his movie. It can be summed up real simple.........if Darth Vader was a car, he would be a wicked, sinister black '55 Chevy!

Hahaha, you need to think about that for awhile.

Darth Vader = the Falfa '55. Awesome, I never thought of it like that before. :D

Half done movie car, too low in the grille shell, odd fendered. piss yellow, ford coupe. Or a sinister 55 chevy with more power and sinister looks. Well I like them both but this time the 55 wins out. Cuz I'd have to change the coupe to my liking and that would be a sin.

Falfa's 55 for me. Gets left at the line but, Hell Fire he is level within the first 330 and who knows how far he would have creamed the 32 by if he could drive......

I love that car, reason I got into the whole Tri Chevy thing....

When you hear the 55 Blast through the red light at the intersection you know the 32 is in serious trouble. Or in the words of the guy in the Mercury, " That is one bad ass Chevy, Milners day has come. " I wanted the 55 for 30 years after watching the movie and finally built it. Still one of the most evil movie cars ever.

  20. Sorry;I left the "I" out of that question(senior moment...). Of course, most of us know the connection between Milner's license plate characters and a certain little-known Lucas film;I'll have to check the other "key" car's plates for "clues".

I think it was one of the guys in the Merc that mentions Falfa's first name-gotta watch it again and refresh the memory.

  22. Yeah, I think a 301 too. Duntov 097 cam, Headman headers and maybe 2 4bbls, 3 2bbls or an AFB off of a '62 Pontiac, About 10:1 compression with power pack heads and Jahns pop up pistons... 4:11 gears and good to go .. That my friend is "Old School" .. been there done that ... :D

I've always figured that Falfa's black '55 Chevy probably had a dual quad 1962 409 CID/409 HP engine under the hood. I know that it was an L-88 in real life but that's supposed to be a secret since those didn't come out 'til '67. Anyway, there's no way that the '55 had a 301 or 327 because that's what was in Milner's '32 and being as light as the '32 was, it would have defeated the heavier '55 handily. Don't forget, they raced twice in that movie and the '55 pulled the '32 BOTH times so I think it must've had some pretty serious cubes under the hood! Now......this movie was set in the summer of '62 so it would'nt been too hard for Mr. Falfa to buy a 409 engine out of a wrecked '62 Impala to transplant into his black '55. Another scenario that I prefer to think of is that Mr. Falfa just does not seem to be the most honest, upstanding citizen. More than likely, he snatched a '62 Super Sport late one Spring night off the front row of a used car lot two towns over, liberated it's dual-quad 409, B-W T-10 4-speed, and 4.11 rear axle center section and swapped everything into his '55. All the while just thinking of this yellow '32 Ford a couple of towns over that he keeps hearing is undefeated. Well......we'll see.
