i dont have any pictures yet, but ive been working on converting a 26 model T sedan into a coupe. ive got the sides all shortened so it looks like a coupe, now the REAL challenge will be making the trunk area!
here's some of mine to add to the fun today. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o> <o> </o> <o> </o> Dave
that 1962 pontiac catalina motor looks good in that yellow car. I did a model car show yesterday, got 2nd place for my milner coupe. and for the first time there was more juniors than me! 2 other kids. I entered 24 models!
How about 1/2 of my Oakland Roadster Show diorama? I had this at the 50th Anniversary GNRS. My magazine
Great work guys! Koolkat - the diorama is a real killer! My 1949 Ford is now finished Not so very detailed but good enough to have on the shelf )
heres a willys van cut down into a truck i been doing latley. almost done. some great models this week.
Thanx Kiwi ) A almost ox stock kit brings a lot of pleasure. I don't have too much spare time... so I have to make some easy ones.
I haven't done any real scale custom stuff in years. The HAMB has inspired me. I decided to build a 1940 Ford 3 Window Coupe. I am starting with the horribly cast Lindberg coupe that came in the L-700 truck and trailer kit. I figured if I screwed this up then no big deal. I took 7/16 out of the length. I am having trouble getting the line right for the back of the door. If anyone can photochop a good line in there for me I would appreciate it. I haven't needed putty for anything in years, and yep what I have in the model tool kit is dried up.... I haven't decided on anything other than the body as of yet. I am thinking of making it look like a mild custom. I have seen pics of 3 Window 1940 Ford coupes before, but the B-Pillar never looks "right". Anyway here is what I have so far:
most are found in hobby/model/toy shops, but a lot of us modify them. i love cutting them up with my dremal and making each kit unique and radical. you need big parts boxes witch is a by product of years of building. the blue car has 36 ford front fenders on the rear, 34 ford front guards, camaro grille, body sides are f100 truck hood cut in half and the engine is made out of spare engine parts for example.
My problem is, I can't remember what I've already posted on here. Built this, at least, 10 years ago.
For the most part, almost everybody's are modifications of existing model kits, using parts from many other kits, plus lots of work and ingenuity to make it 'work' like the model builder envisions it.
LOL, still have'nt recovered from that annual beer ya'll had with us last month have ya Lyle! Good lookin truck, I'm fixinto make a gasser out of one those, I reckon i better get started! Just giving ya a hard time man, see ya next year! Jacky.
very cool '41 Lyle! my yellow roadster was inspired by a car that Vern Tardel had at some point. that car was a '32 though? Dave
Man there is so much great talent here. Now if I could get my two left thumbs to work maybe I try and put one together ha ha................
hey look at those beauties above! nice to see more of you posting. I think I showed most of my stuff last week (that is worthy). Here is my latest progress. sitting in paint booth to keep dust off for now.
