    Denise,
Casey and Ricard D would look good in a dress!

I have a feeling that in the next few days there will be some people come forward that knew the builder, Ron Bettin (pronounced Ba-teen). He was "in the know" .

For the guy calling BS/ Here is another picture taken at a car show. Until I get it scanned, this is the best I can do with a cell phone.

It's amazing this body was found.....so awesome. Did they say anything about the original chassis? Do you have any pics of the suspension setup and frame mods from back in the day so you can replicate? I assume the chassis that came with it wasn't the one under it, just from seeing that it wasn't bobbed or z'd in the back. If it is I'd love to see pics so I can see how they did it.
Certainly one of the coolest finds in a while. CONGRATS!!!

it's just get's better and better! thank you for sharing the old pics and the detail pics that you have at my request.

still curious as to if the frame was Z'd massively or if the floor was really high inside the car on the original build. any pics that will help out there?

Ya, look at the scrubline! If that was built today people would be screaming about it being a rat rod... Its nice to see that they actually built them like that back in the day. Please put it back together just like it is in the pictures. I love this car!

never intended it to be a true to the 1:1 car kind of build, but seeing more pics of it is certainly helping make it more that way.

Dave that is awesome! Let me know if you need more pictures! Also the cowl vent is leaded in and the top was black and white tuck and roll. Let me know if you will sell one, I would like to get one for his Grandson.

Thanks Brian, I know you and Ron were close! I will need your guidance through this.

Congratulations Kathy!! What a amazing find. Owning a car with history like that is a once in a lifetime thing. I'm sure you'll relish every minute of it. I can't wait to see it in person some day!

Darlin', I truly hope you'll simply restore this car to the incarnation that's in this photo - presumably the way it was built originally. In my humble opinion there's just nothing to be done to make it any better...different, maybe, but not better.

Best of luck with your project! :)

  21. Holy doodle girl! You've scored a no hitter/ double hat trick in the same day! Weld done! Its gotta be one of the coolest looking cars ever, can't wait to see what comes of it. I'd prolly put it together like it is/ was, then take it apart and paint it how he had it painted. Even put in the cracked windshield for the first go.
I'm shooting to be on the salt next year too, can I crew too? I'll bring canadian beer to go along with Denise's cookies:D

  22. Kathy, taking it to Bonneville and actually competing requires a game plan. I'm guessing a five point rollbar, racing belts, fire system, special tires, fuel cell, and I doubt they'd let you run with that broken glass (which I know you were'nt). At any rate, I'd love to help any way I can.

Bonneville 2010 will be for fun only. After the driver's meeting on Saturday, you can drive down the long course. That is my goal for 2010, and to learn how to pronounce JohnJoyo's last name!;)
