That's my '63 Buick wagon that I traded to ... uh.... switchblade327?... a hamber in NC anyway, for a 31 4-dr slant window A, which is currently "resting" in the barn..

If I had hands I would have had a higher number, it is hard to type with my jaw.

I remember this board would post things that would get the guys at the RRT all fired up and we'd drop in over there and stir things up... they were angry in those days. Now I bet most of them lurk here. :D

Here's a few shots from the turn of the century-era... some are HAMBer's cars from the early days, like Short Bus's hoopty or the Roach Rod before the nose..

    Enjoy:

and other than the PPE and the McCord Special... Gary's roadster is probably the first modern rat rod as far as radical styling went...

I liked everything about Shag's truck except riding in it... chopped and channeled pickup cab, you had to fold yourself up to get in.

  13. I remember bobbleed and krupanut stirring up each other about "How high to cuff your pants" and "what kind of hair cream to use"!!!!!

There was some funny shit going on back then!

  14. I noticed in that list that Zenor posted that a lot of them are either from the Wichita area or were at the Ft. Smith KKOA shows. Man those were fun!

  15. Not all of them were angry but a select few got VERY angry. Gave the guy who was running it a reason to pull the plug. I liked the HAMB a lot more than the RRT right off but this was scary place. Like walking down some dark alley to check out the black 3 window lurking at the end of it. It was worth it!

Very true. I had lurked on the HAMB a couple of years before I joined and at the time thought the boys on the HAMB were all mean to each other and very scary. They made it perfectly clear they weren't happy about a streetrod girl buying project Big Olds.

  17. I'm still here, I check in from time to time to see what's up in the world of traditional hot rods, then I slink back to my jet boat... I don't even know what number I am, but I've been here since about 97 or so.

Edit* I'm 402 on this version.

whats up with Radshit... Have not noticed him around in a while

  21. Ryan, you should add the last post date field and the post count to this and sort it by newest to latest... I bet there are some some lurkers in that list...

I lurked for a year before I signed up... my project was getting disc brakes and a tilt wheel and I thought I'd get run out first thing. #1133

  22. I guess a HAMB # less than 818 would make you a "one percenter." 8 or less would make you a squared one percenter.

I seen his truck while I was in Albuquerque at a outing-thing for families right before I deployed. I stopped to talk to him, but they were moving shop and he was at the new location so I didnt get the chance to meet him. I PM'd and he answered so he is still somewhat active. Neat little truck. That was about a year ago.
