Heading down Friday for my sixth year at the Follies. Who else is going and will there be a designated meeting place?
I'll be rolling with you Bob. Darin....do you have any idea where you will be setting up? We have some stuff for you to pinstripe
I have never been, what is it like? Is it all street rods, hot rods, or both? Was thinking of coming down on Friday, weather is not looking all that good, I don't know. The coupe is not real rain friendly yet, so I need to keep an eye on the weather. Three and half hour drive in the rain is not so much fun when you'er gittin' wet.
Its got a bit of everything. The majority are street rods and customs. But there are a good number of trucks, classics and traditionals mixed in. Ive been going since i can remember, but then again i live in Evansville. I drove back from Purdue every year to make the show after the first week of classes if that tells you anything. Its definitely worth the trip. Expect around 4K cars with a pretty good swap/ vendor area. Only a slight chance of a stray t-storm on Friday. Bring the coupe and a tarp just in case!
Leaving early Friday morning! Plan on being there all weekend, it's about a 45 minute drive for me, so,i get to sleep in my own bed!!! Been goin' since i was a kid, wouldn't miss it!!
Here are few few shots from today... I am always so bad at remembering the camera in my pocket... This was the only hamb'er i spotted:
a couple more... This was my favorite from day one... It was immaculate! They had a goodguys book with its picture on the cover. It said 2008 goodguys car of the year. Not sure if that was true or not, but i believe it! **edit** I dug through my pics and found a few more of this car from teh 08 show... Day one is always a little light on cars. Still a good turnout, but probly 1500 more cars tomorrow. Hope you enjoy! I can post up some more from last year if you all want to see em.
Hey PurdueSD, thanks for posting the Photo of my truck! If your there tomorrow (Sat.) look me up! And Breeder, if your talking about the Blue and Black coupes from Illinois, yes, the Kropdusters have landed!! Talked to them today, cool guys, always enjoy meeting new HAMB'ers!!
My dad is in Evansville visiting my grandma and uncle. He's supposed to stop in saturday. Wish i could. If i win the lottery where i can quit my job and work on my car id like to drive the 52 up there next year but doubt it will happen. Only have weekends to do things and ive been working on the new house since we closed last month.
Yep I was there too, wearing my H.A.T.E shirt. I looked for you Wayne but did not find you. I may swing by tomorrow with some flyers for the cruise in.
Not true. We live in Henderson KY and my wife left to run home to get our little boy nap before we cruised the hotels, they came back in at 3:50 to pick me up.
