ID Artillery Wheels

Anyone know what these wheels are? They came with my Model A project. They are 16's

 

Cretin those are standard wide 5s off '36-'39 Fords.

How about these I was told they are rare. I think 32 ford ??? They are about 6.5 wide and 17's or bigger I think 5 on 5.5 or 5.75 . They need to be welded were the rust was. Iwould sell the pair if the offers good! I have a pair of nice bud wheels 4.5 w 16's 5 on 5 I think

Hey! Those are old 1930's Buick 5x6 bolt pattern wheels. They should be 16" in diameter and about 6" wide. Welding wheels is not a problem. I have it done to all my wheels that are in need of repair. The weld is probably stronger then the original metal itself. Could you post pics of the Budd wheels?

 

Did Studebaker make 4 lug artillery wheels? If so, are they worth anything?

 

Not to my knowledge, only Willys and Hudson did. I will have to check my books though. I cant say they are worth too much. They are definitely not worth as much as 5 lug wheels or 6 lug. 4 lug though are just unique in there own way.

 

Well, we had a Studebaker pickup bed that was converted to a trailer and the wheels were 4 bolt 16" rusty orangish with yellow and orange pinstripes. The bed was around a 34 to 36 or so...

 

Well wheels were changed all around back then. Could be a Hudson or Willys axle under the Studebaker bed? Send a picture. I could tell you right away.

 

Well damn...apparently I am COMPLETELY wrong...3 of them are this and the 4th is a 4 lug.

Well yes! Dodge plymouth on the ground there. The other 5 lug in the picture is 1934-1936 international. I see a 1940's 15" chevy 6 lug artillery. Yes, mostly dodge/plymouth artillery wheels.

That is so strange why a trailer would have 3 5-lug wheels and 1 4 lug. The 5 lugs are Plymouth, maybe an Olds. Its hard to tell from the picture!

 

Here are ths Bud wheels 16x4.5 5on5 I think.

 

Yes, Budd made those wheels but you have to check the bolt pattern. I have ones that are 5x4.5 5x5 and 5x5.5 that all look lik ethat style of artillery wheels from dodge.

 

That right one is a 17" studebaker artillery wheel. Should be a 5x5 and made by Firestone.

Hi. I find those on a homemade wagon whith Ford 32 axle a time ago, can you tell me what kind of wheels?? The center is Forged or cast. Backside says:

Mylle....ah..you answered yourself...Clark wheels! They where also sold under the Firestone name.

They're not my favorite wheel but I like them for obvious reasons. I have 3 16x5 5.5 bc and one 6 lugger. Been lookin for that elusive 4th wheel.

Caps are nonscipt for the Clark's and firestone had a cap with Firestone Air Baloon on it.

Hey Buzznut, Those are clearly repoped artillery wheels. Notice how wide they are. With that offset, that is not original. Most all reproduction wheel companies are making these artillery wheels. 15-17"

I picked this one up at a garage sale for free and was hoping it would fit my dodge at the time. No such luck. Can you tell me what it is from?
