I've heard that those things will rip your finger off if you hold it wrong. Don't let it stop you from using it just watch out.

I've got one in my pickup. It does get hot on 90 degree plus days. I got it from a buddy to get rid of the ugly '80's camaro wheel that was in there. I am going to eventually get a good metalflake wheel or re-do my '59 Impala wheel when I get further along in doing my interior. But then again, the longer I stare at the chain wheel, the more I like it.

    I say run it holmes.

Those things are soo uncomfortable!! Just be careful not to stick your fingers between the links while your driving, no telling what would happen in a crash if you did that..your new nickname would be billy four fingers!!!!

Other than it's ugly and uncomfortable, I see nothing wrong with it:D

My dad ran one in his 63 impala back in the mid 70's...until he got into a fender bender and knocked out his bottom row of teeth. I guess if you think it's worth it.

Seriously, I don't think that would be limited to chain wheels. If you hit any non-airbag steering wheel with your face in a crash, you're likely to lose teeth. That's just a fact of life.

they were illegal for the same reasons spinner knobs were, they would rip off your fingers in a wreck, plus there were people who tried to make their own and had them break while driving.

I used the original 28 chevy column, and 4 spokes. just rebuilt and rebushed everything. Including filling and machining the end of the shaft to accept a double d hookup...John
