    Hi Leon,
It's been awhile. When did you sell the coupe?
I'm still at the shop, we let everyone go about three years ago when the ol' man decided he had enough of the insurance companies and their bullshit. I'm actually quite busy there and enjoy working alone, no more employee drama, had enough after twenty some odd years of it. Back to basics.

Actually Spike it was un-clear, that's why I posted. We all know the "Texas" saga. I agree, drop it.

Yes it is Jungle lent his name to.But he did not race it.Just like the vega wagon he put his name on and the top fuler he put his name on. He drove none of them.Jungle was smart his name on them got bookings and in turn the owners of these cars would spilt there winnings with him.

I'm usually a lurker here and have been following this thread with a lot of interest. this past weekend something very cool happened that I want to share.
    I met Pete Williams.
although I was a fan of Jungle Jim, my favorite was the "Chi Town Hustler"
Pete drove one of them in the early 70's

I am on the BOD for Badger Kart club in Dousman WI
over the weekend we hosted a Vintage karting event. As race director and BOD member I like to walk around and talk to racers thanking them for coming and general B S. This one guy and his daughter made the trip up from Ohio, I talked to them for a few minutes and moved on. Later while at the fence watching this guy race, a local guy comes up and asks if I knew who I was watching, I didn't so he told me, it was Pete Williams.
I approached him and told him I was a fan and told him about the H.A.M.B. and this thread in particular, he started talking and shared a few stories about those days, Turns out he and Jungle were good friends and had a story to tell about chaperoning Pams and Jims first date.
For me this was a very cool 1/2 hour, that I will remember for a long time.
I used to cut out pics from magazines of these cars and tape them to the walls of my room, and this guy not only is racing at my local track, in a go kart, but he's taken time out of his race day to share stories with me.
I had a good weekend going, he made it a memorable one.
I hope he looks up the H.A.M.B. and reads this.
    thanks Pete!

OK, I'm going back to lurking now

    Jim

Can not go by what pics say. Most of you do not know that jungle and pam spilt up and he had a new girlfriend her name was Ona she looked a lot like pam . She was gonna drive a jet car jungle was building ,never happened as he was killed. There are a few pics of Ona out there that have been credited as being Pam.That is what happens when people out there that were not around then label pics.

maybe when ol'gasser is done at Cracker Barrel and picks up his Viagra... he can go to Wal Mart and get his vision checked. Here's Ona (right). Show me one point of resemblance to the photo... other that the fact they are both women.

That is not Ona either. I worked with her for a little while in the late 70's. She was a sweetheart of a gal. Took Jim's death real hard for a long time.

I think had there been a "Jungle Pam Fan Club" BITD many many peeps on here would have been paid members, including yours truly.

JP is an icon in the drag racing world! :)

I stand corrected . Thanks Pam!
Oh and by the way, Thanks again for help you have given me on the Graeber car. The chassis is finished and the body is slowly being mounted. How are things now? I know you make appearances and such, but anything you would like us to know... maybe have people realize you live in the now , rather than only in boyhood memories?
