the work on the front end looks too clean to be an aborted job.... i think it deserves some further investigation

Looks like it might have been steam powered judging by the logs in the grill.:)

That looks pretty bad ass! Never seen a front end like that. Dig the louvers on the hood. You might be able to steal it depending on how knowledgeable the owner is. Get it and bring it back to it's former glory!!!

Juding by the moss on the hood, and the junk littering the floor, along with the custom work being lead....I'd guess old build for sure.

  17. That's pretty cool! I will be staying tuned in for sure.

I'm sure theres someone in Spokane that knows all the facts, but this is part of it. The car set in a guys yard next to a friend of mine in East Spokane since at least the mid 80's. I believe the car WAS finished back in the 60's . It belonged to a guy in the Road Knights from Davenport WA. (just west oif Spokane). Currently he has a older show circuit 55 Chev that he also built back in that era He had been looking for the Olds for some time (not on the HAMB unfortunately). Lots of people knew the car was there but it was never for sale. Finally he asked someone who knew where the car was and he put together some deal to get the car back. Ironically it was always down in Tinbenders neck of the woods in Spokane. The metal work that was done appeared to have been nice work. Alltho was uncovered for years most of the glass was gone so it stayed dried out pretty well. A real survivor for sure.

  21. Hmm , interesting story !

  22. Thanks Bob. I'll stop by tomorrow and see if I can talk to the owner. His wife told me he has finally given up on the car. All in all it's not in bad shape.

    Nice metal work!
Where were the headlights to be placed, in the grille opening?
Definately stop and ask about the car. Would be a good one to save.

THIS LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT BE A LOT MORE TASTEFULL THAN SOME OF THE LATE FIFTY'S CUSTOMS WE OFTEN SEE. I DIG THE FRONT FENDERS. CAR LOOKS LIKE SOMONE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING IN THE BODY WORK DEPART.

(Sorry about screaming, I dont look up when typing and daughter had caps lock on.)

  27. No sign of headlights or mounts but I couldn't see any better than the pics. It does look to be high quality work. I'm starting to lust for the car, I have a urge to buy an olds, but I'd have to make it a drop top. I'll try to look at it again tomorrow, and give an update.

  28. Don't go makin this easier now! I'm trying to NOT start anything new!

I have a picture you might like!
