Unknown poster. Someone posted this on the HAMB and I had saved the pic. I don't know who took the pic. It is ultra cool though.

    Phatcaddy,
I believe the real wispy looking angel hair from the '60's became illegal. Must be like asbestos, that kind of thing.

  4. At the place the car was being stored in Campbell....Its moved now tho.

Not every car is to everyone's taste but this is a vintage car with a large amount of talent displayed to build it... With the same car I would not likely choose then or now the exact same route though I like this car. I think all it would need is a well known and currently 2009 famous name attached to it or a thumbs up from a moderator to change the popular opinion being posted against it. Most builders can appreciate a different style for the skill displayed. Such as personally I think the 60 Caddy is absolutely ruined with the changes made to it and that goofy flame job but I respect the amount of time to lay it out, and make it his way. This car on the other hand like it or not took some more than average ability.

I guess some guys are just jealous they are still at the unbolt the fenders and spray bomb the wheels stage.

Its the sign of the times when built and I like all the body changes. The only thing I couldn't deal with would be the fur interior. I think its because I tried it one time at a great expense and didnt like it back in the 60's and had to re upholstery it again in white pearl. Over all its very well done.

Yes, we did :) We had bags and bags of that crap!
I think that's why they never asked us back again, we filled up most of there trash cans with it!

Most people didn't "get" our use of fishing, bowling, dancing, soccer, etc trophies either.... Since we never win car trophies, we just substituted.

Yes, The Busonic is still for sale.

The photo is from the Howard Gribble Collection.
He has four pages of these fantastic early lowrider cars photos on his Flickr account.

The Busonic photo is on page 3...

    Check it out here:

So, i know this is an old thread, but as im doin some reaserch i'd like to know a couple of things:
1st, if the car has sold and who has it, and maybe some more pics would be GREAT.
2nd, and most important, i seem to remember readin that Bil Hines originally did the lifts on this car. Is this info correct?
Does anybody have detailed info on the original build?
    Thanx a bunch.
    Nick.

When this car was taken to Winfeilds show at Flooky's hot dog stand( in like 1999) I was standing with Watson, someone said " hey Larry the Busonic's here" Larry's reply "F-You" but then someone else said " yeah the Busonic's parking in the back" Larry sez " yeah F-You" and then" lets just see" and there it was, still in the flake Larry had shot on it in 67, knowing Larry is a lacquer guy I asked " did You use nitro clear or acrylic lacquer clear to suspend the flake? He thought for 2 seconds and said " nitro", when Michael Finstein was restoring the car Larry gave them all the original paint codes, Larry was the coolest. Von Doc
