has the pics on the front page. Real sad story. I helped him find the car here on the HAMB. Silver lining is that if his car had not been sitting where it was, the asshole drunk driver would have killed a bunch of people instead of killing his sport coupe.

Well, if Karma says you gotta lose a car, that's sure an honorable way for it to die. Still a tough loss, though.

Sorry to here about the loss. Maybe now he will do all the custom work that he always wanted to do. It is hard to do these things when your just having fun driving the car daily. the Same sort of thing happend to me and now im doing all that bitchen stuff. Its sad but you can turn it in to a good thing. Have him keep in touch with me and my progress. It can be easy to relate to someone who has been there and motivating too....good luck with the insurance, it can be a bitch....................

That picture of him standing there with his hands over his face kills me. I can't even imagine how much that must suck, watching your car burn down.

It was a really fucking nice '53, too.

    Looks like a total loss.

    what a shame

  21. Atleast your son is okay! Sorry to hear about the '53. But you should be able to rebuild her. It will give you and your son a lot of fun memories!

  22. Man that plain sucks! Pity the asshole driver didn't catch fire with the alcohol he'd been drinking....
    Glad your boys OK though.

Badly damaged cars can be rebuilt, damaged lives on the other hand..........

My buddy lost his Hudson the same way, never got a dime out of the sorry S.O.B. either. Sometimes it feels like there's no justice in the world.

At least he can try to rebuild her.

If the drunk driver had hit the people...well, if that's what it did to the car I can't imagine what could have happened. No rebuilding them...

guy will probably get a slap on the wrist and be out drinking and driving again, some guy on speeders last night,14 DUI's!! wonder how many people's lives he endangered in the course of those. The court system is hopeless.

Damn shame, but glad nobody was hurt and hopefully the drunk will get what should be coming to him and pay for everything.

Laws are too lax for drunk drivers. Knew a guy a few years back that probably had half a dozen dwi's. Judge said "you can only drive for work." So the drunk idiot drove his dump truck everywhere.
