the latest paint on that car ws done at my shop about 6-7 years back. most of the work was done by don heckman, and watson consulted about the colors.
all that body work was done in lead, quite a feat up in the lower ft areas.
jamie stormes did the pinstiping. it was quite stunning when complete.

i have the oakland pic hanging on my office wall, and have a bunch of pics of the work as it was done if anyone is interested, and nobody objects.

Absolutely incredible. As a '55 Buick owner, and i can probably speak for others, this is the one flagship car for a custom '55 Buick that always turns up. It's very rare for us to see over-the-top creations out of a car that's almost always left as a simple mild custom. It's amazing to see it in full color off a modern camera.

I don't know how i ever missed this thread.

Thanks thats great to see it in bare metal and fresh paint.

I always loved the Winfield paint job on it.
The Howard Gribble photo with angle hair that was posted by mikes51 is amazing...

I scanned this one from a Brithish Custom Car magazine some time ago...

So cool to see this thread still alive and kicking with new pictures and info. It was quite a treat to see this car in my shop everyday for over a year. The workmanship on it is amazing.

I remember it. In addition to the magazine spread already posted, I think it was featured in a Peterson’s custom car yearbook about 1964. It looks better than ever now. Great job!

I'm sorry, that car is ugly as hell. It goes against everything having to do with good customizing and good design in general. Nothing flows and it's a tour de force of Ge gaw craptasticness(TM)
