Customs How many Great Danes can you fit in a chopped 54 Chevy?

Ha ha, You must know great danes, mine are all fixed though. But I had one once that wasn't, and some kids came over to release some baby ducks in my pond. One of the kids started screaming that my Dane was sittin' on a duck,---he wasn't, it was really funny trying to explain to a little kid what he was actually sitting on!

The little white faced puppy had an English Mastiff mother, and a Great Dane father. She's 5 1/2 months and 75 lbs.

It helps that there's no interior in mine yet, but I think if they could talk they'd want to know why I took a perfectly good car and turned it into something they can barely stick there head out of.

 

that chop looks great..i always like the look of the b pillar leaned forward..and ive always had a little thing for those 54 chevys..nice dogs too..keep us updated on the build please...

Well, plan right now is to try to get some primer on it, complete the wiring, then drive it. This winter I plan to do some customizing, then the hardest job of all, figuring out what color to paint it, suggestions?

I know exactly what you mean, I put a lot of thought, time and work into this one, and really feel I got it right. Glad to hear the rest of you do too. So far, nothing but good feedback, maybe I should have called it a rat rod in the title, just to stir the pot a bit.

 

how much is the chop? i have the 49 rear window swap in mine but i need to do a bit of massaging to get it looking like that. the slanted b pillar is giving me ideas.

 

I always wondered how some guys got their cars so low, now I know, 5 Great Danes would do it. Butch/56sedandelivery.

 

i have used a large aw root beer mug as a chop height dimension never thought a box headed dog would work so well .. or group of doggd as a tapered widow template

bet they drag off tools too

 

patchy primer grey/black and the dogs will blend right in

 

4" from the a pillar, and 5" in the back. It's really tricky to get that window to look right from every angle. I work alone, so I not only had to keep moving it and looking, but I had to figure out how to hold it in place while doing it, so a lot of tacking and cutting it back out till it was where I wanted it. I pie sliced the length of the roof on each side so it tapered into the window.

Look at the difference with them and without. I figure there was over 600 lbs of dogs in there!

 

I will have at least one great dane in my life till the day I die.

We actually have 6, 3 are my daughters and 3 are mine, but one of mine is almost 11, and too old and too grumpy to put up with these youngsters. All these dogs are rescues, as soon as I hear of one in a shelter I go get it out, and either keep it or find it a home, they each have their own little "issues", but they're great dogs.

Yeah, me too, I've had them for over 25 years, there's nothing like laying on the couch with a 150 lb. dog sleeping on your chest, or havin' him quietly slip in bed beside you early in the morning, then gradually taking over the whole bed.

I kan't wait to see it done. I wish that you lived closer I would like
to have another great dane. We have a black and white (mix) and
she sits on everything. If she is not trying to sit on ya, she is leaning
on you. Funny & very kool dogs..

The chop looks really good. Someone once told me not to use that back window because it would never fit right. I guess they were wrong.

Can't let my Bulldog anywhere near when I'm working on the car.He sticks his nose right where I'm trying to work,and steals my tools if he gets the chance.And if he sees a wheel,he'll piss on it!

I think your dogs are telling you hurry up!! we want to go for a ride!! I love big dogs, I had a hundred pound black lab,crazy as hell, but he died suddenly. stil have four dogs though,since we got the pup
