hey Dave I just happened on your thread. Did you learn that disc cover trick from Jack Fuller down in Hampton? He did that about 10 yrs ago and Gerry Burger ran an article in Rodders Digest back then. Car is looking awesome. Sorry I won't get to the HAMB meet in Richmond. I have given up on NSRA. Prices have jumped too high and I don't like the new yr. rules. A bunch of us from Winc. and Hampton/newport news are going to Pipestem WVa. Keep up the good work on the Vicky. Howard

PM me a number and I will buzz you in a couple of weeks when I am in to have Lunch with a bunch of high school buds. I would like to se the Vicky in person before I head back north ,if thats okay.

BEAUTIFUL! I like it alot!! Gonna' be stunning for sure, Dave!!

I'm glad you posted that color pallet. Are these Austin Healy colors?? I'm really thinking of looking into the Mineral Blue for mine. Would like to know how to find this color.

  13. Yes, the chips I posted are 1959 Austin Healey and MG colors. In my research I found that the European manufacturers of the 50s and early 60s had a wider variety of medium blues than American car makers. Volkswagen and Renault from the same era have a really good selection too.

Here's the link to the page off of TCP's Auto Color Library:

Dave, thats a good choice of color.Your doing a great job, and I like all the research you are putting into it.Most people just point and shoot per say.Keep up the good work.

  17. Great progress! You need to update the avatar.

  18. 11/14/10 ... it's been a while. Anyway, I figured I throw up some update pics of my ridiculously slow progress. What can I say, life has gotten in the way.

EDIT: I figured I'd just add to an old thread instead of starting a new one.

I added a few leaves to the rear and raised the back end an inch. Time for taller tires.

The pipes are done and the welds blended. (still need to be coated) I also finished up the turnouts.

I saw a few of your posts recently on other threads and wondered how this was going. Its hard to tell from your recent 'photos - did you chop the extra inch or is it as before (looks more like the latter)?
    Really nice work.

Now come over and help me with my lake headers ;)

  29. Dave,
    Beautiful header welds.

I like the way the body follows the frame contour too.
