That's awesome. Looks like there's some good paint in the trunk to match the original color off of too.

That is really great news and she looks to be in pretty good shape too.

Have fun with the restoration... and please keep us informed with plenty of pics

  6. Sweet! I have an old B&W of that car...never knew the origins...pretty sad since I'm from Modesto.

Was lucky enough to spend some time with Gary and Mary Minor and Richard Glymph at the GNRS this year. We were standing outside one evening and Lanny walked up (of course Gary knew him...) and we were all introduced, then were able to listen to Lanny relate some stories about the car and it`s build....another unreal case of meeting people I had only heard about in old Magazines....

  11. So many people say 55 and 56 Chevys and Fords don't look good chopped but I like this one and it seems to be popular.I'd like to chop my 56 Ford sedan about the same.

I gotta say in my book a 56 was always a hot rod. This one changes my mind. I like that alot.

About 90 or 91, Lanny came up to me and a friend at the Oakland Roadster Show and asked if we knew where the car was as he had heard that it was in the northwest. My friend knew that it was in a bone yard in British Columbia and the search was on. It took some time but the car was found and Lanny hauled it home and on to Louisiana where he lived before moving to Texas, you know how those displaced Californian's are lol. Anyway, still keep in touch with Lanny but he dosen't play on the puter so it usually means a phone call. Nice to see the car being finished. It took a couple of doners as well.

Give it all the attention it deserves in the rebuild. That has to be one of my all favorite Chev's.

    Hey,

It's great to see that this one has survived, and not turned into another Datsun or Kia!
I hope the restoration/repairs will be made in lead, jus' as it was built all those years ago. Plastic filler is great for collision work and Cameros, but has no place in traditional kustom restoration/repair.

This is great news. I can't wait to see the restoration. I remember a thread a few years back about this car. I think we were trying to figure out if this pic was of a clone or the real car. Now we know the answer.

  30. I normally hate chops on tri-five chevys. But this car pulls it off. It's gonna be bad ass.
