I've got an idea for you Ryan. Why don't you build a nice trad '32 roadster with a flat head?

  24. Here's my old heap. Been on the road since 1987, so it's in bad need of an update to meet HAMB standards.
Brakes, wheels and tires, color change, wishbones, exhaust.
    Any other suggestions?

I'm having a lot of fun playing with a different windshield and grille. I still need to make hood tops. I think I'll make a new top too. IMG_2256.JPG

  28. The easiest would be to paint the whole car blue. You wouldn't have to take it apart, just paint the black, which means you would have to paint the body and the outside of the frame. The front hairpins look fine. The rear bars hanging down would look better tucked up inside the frame, or paint them black so they don't stand out so much. Painted steelies, maybe in red, or black with rings and caps. It would look really good all black, but that's a lot of disassembly work. Make some backing plates for the front brakes to hide the disks.

  29. Thanks for the suggestions!
The ironic thing is it was first painted all blue (Dean Foods/Freightliner), and it was so bright and monochromatic I found a LA roadster pic with the 30's Bugatti style reverse scallop and did it in black to break it up. The entire frame and body underside is slick finished in the blue, so it would have to be a frame off to go all black.
Tip: Don't let your (now ex) wife and friends coerce you into a color!
