Event Coverage ***PICS*** Strangers BBQ '09

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by A32Flathead, Jul 13, 2009.

  1. Once again, one of the best car shows of the year took place in our own back yard at San Jose's History Park.

On behalf of myself & my Road Devil brothers in attendance, I would like to express our thanks to the whole Strangers Car Club for one of the friendliest, hassle free events of the year...

I pointed my camera at a car or two as well....

YES! Great show. The best was getting there early and seeing/hearing all the cars come down the hill to get in line.

    WHAT Fairgrounds???
The Santa Clara County Fairgrounds is only good for Off-Track betting and Paintball.(If you're in to that).

I'm so glad I listened to the "words of wisdom" from A32Flathead by getting there early.
    (Thanks "English" Dave!).
I was there at 6:45am and by 8:30,the line of cars was already stretching around the parking lot.
Next year it might be a "camp out in the RV" time....

I wonder if the bad experiences from the "other" show in Downtown San Jose had something to do with the increased attendance.
Car all waxed up and no place to go....

I will say it was fun seeing the guy in the '67 Camaro Convertible being told to park his car in the dirt!:D

Thanks Brian! I plan on making the '40 LaSalle I'm working on now better, it already sits several inches lower than this one.

great show , I have a show hangover... lol
while we were cleaning up we were discussing the number of cars that didnt get in.... talk of finding a bigger space etc...
I am sure everybody who worked it is as tired and sore as I am...
with any luck , next year I will be able to park my bike inside! lol
I mean shit , my shovel is smaller (in length) than scotty's mini bike chopper...lol

The Stranger's Car Club should be very proud of their Car Show. Great Job. We haven't enjoyed such a laid back, BITCHIN Car Show like this in years. What is so cool is that 99.9% of the cars were driven to this show. 300 plus cars that show the owners talent and dreams. For the cars that didn't get in, YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOOSE. Thanks for a great time !
