WOW! That looks great, wonder if that is the same car that was in Newtown, Ct. or what it could look like some day? Thanks for posting the photos. :):)

Beautiful little engines, but where do you find parts to rebuild one? I have a hard enough time finding parts for old American engines around here.

You can get almost anything you need for the Alfa 1750s and 2000 4cyl. They have a pretty strong following and parts aren't even that pricey. I'd bet the fiat twin cam 4cyl isn't that bad wither, but I haven't looked.

Some of them I'm sure are rediculous though so research it first if you want to use one in something.

My dad bought a $500 1960 fiat and later found out that the wheel bearings that were missing and needed to get it home were also $500!

We also have 3 alfa 2600 6 cyl engines and the pistons and liners are $2800!

I agree. I have a 60's 1600cc 5-spd Alfa orphan that I got for $500. The basic engine design was produced for almost 50 years, and they are overbuilt and rugged. Compact, relatively light DOHC that can easily produce well over 100 hp, rev easily to 6500 rpm. Loads of speed equipment etc., etc. Now I love American stuff, but an italian piece in the arsenal ain't gonna hurt, and the Alfa 5 spd. is one of the finest ever made. Heck, my circa '64 Ducati 250 racing engine puts out nearly 30 hp @ 8500 rpm from 250cc!

Im glad you guys like our cammers, i always thought they were great and wondered why i dont see them in modifieds or track Ts, or any other project to fit really...
Anyway, do you guys realize how rare some of the engines pictured here are?
Its multi millionaire car collector stuff here, i mean, the common Alfa or Fiat bangers might have a big aftermarket and can still be found in junkyards, lets say just like pintos or Ford dohc, but the real fancy aluminium ones in the 1st post by Miller and the various Maserati, Ferrari, Moretti and Stanguellini engines are real collector pieces and not exactly cheap....
Im pretty sure that w/ some hard work and the right parts you can make look like this any Ford or Alfa double cammers.....i'd be really intrested in seeing this happen....anyone doin anything like it?

My first car was an Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1600, built in 1968. Very nice car, fully reclinable front seats, great engine and trans, was really nice to drive and fun. But a friend with a 67 Camaro impressed me with 327 power, and I was hooked. This happened 30 years ago when was 21....since then I have always driven american cars....

This is a VERY special factory supercharged GTA engine. Don't ask me, but the superchargers are OIL-DRIVEN?

I've mentioned this on a few other threads, but I had a GTJR 1300 w/ dual Webers in Germany 1969-70. Just a jewel of an engine. A buddy had a similar car but he also had a big issue with the dealer on warranty service. So, to try to get "even" with the dealer, he drove it to Frankfurt and back from Ramstein in 4th gear on the autobahn, totally flat, at a near constant 7500 rpm. He could not blow it up. Gary
