Hey Chris- I was just thinking about this over the last couple of days. I saw your ad on CL selling your Chevy truck parts and thought maybe you were finally moving down to Texas.

I'm glad to see you are keeping the tradition alive.

For anyone who has not been there- Chris and his family put on quite the party and are some of the best hosts you are likely to come across.
    Their hospitality is second-to-none.

I highly recommend this to those that can make it. You will definitely see a variety of "vehicles" (that word was chosen very carefully:D) that you are not likely to encounter collected together anywhere else.

I'm really hoping I can make it. I've attended the last two and they were both a lot of fun- even last year in the rain.

Thanks for doing this again, Chris and Co.

We'll see if I can make it out for the last hurrah...it'll depend on my work schedule and what's going on with my house renovations and such, but I think it should work...

My Lady and I should be able to make it. I think.... We're practically neighbors now. (I'm up off 88th and 2nd)

    Good to hear guys!

I got the postcards in the mail today. Let me know if you want me to send you one or if you just want to wait until the show.

Jay, you're the man. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I have been selling bits and pieces of the truck, but not because we are moving to Texas (the economy put a hold on that). We have a baby girl due September 7, so I figured I would sell the truck to reclaim some space in the house and the garage. It's no fun trying to fit the van, the opel, the smart car, the vespa, AND the truck in a two car garage when there is a threat of hail!

Just over a month to go!

I'll give Lance a call and see if he's up to pick me and the dog up in the '57 and drive down...I'll try and make some food this year too...I'm really hoping to make it, and I hope you guys stay in MN and keep putting the show on, even if it means asking for donations to do so...

The Straight 8 is still not ready. Dammit.

And no- you don't get another ride in the wagon...

...this year, you get to drive.

Luckily the economy hasn't hit us too bad so we're still ok to put this on as a free BBQ. It's our treat to all of you and your friends and families.

Let us know if you want to stop over Friday to get your gumbo started. Heck, even if you don't want to cook, come over Friday anyways, we enjoy your company.

  18. While I am inspired by the fact that it goes on until question marks, its just too far of a trek for me right now. Love to make it though.

I'm still hoping to make it, but it all depends on how my hand heals and if I can drive or not...(angle grinder at work decided to eat my ring finger tendon on the back of my left hand)...

I was off of work for a week while moving into the house, this week I was back on light duty...the cast comes off tomorrow, hopefully next week I'll be back on my regular shift...but now I'm 2 weeks behind on working on the house...we'll see what happens when that weekend comes...
