Just wanted to post some pics of my 52 Chevy Business Coupe. This is my first project like this, the other cars that ive owned dont belong here. Just wanted to say thanks to the HAMB for all the help. If i cant figure something out I can search the Fourms for the answer! Ive been woking on it for about 4 years now, its lots of work, but worth it. Im gonna throw some glass in it and drive it while I decide what direction to go with the paint. Still got a long way to go, but Im tired of looking at the thing sitting in my barn! Any suggestions, comments?
I suggest you put bumpers on that thing! And perhaps lowering blocks on the rear? Solid-looking coupe.
there are many ways you could go with this. you got a lot to work with, so you got to tell us what style you like. it could be a taildragger to a gasser. just don't widen the damn thing
I suggest that you stop immediately and send me the doors, grille, front seat and front fenders! Seriously, do what you want with it and to hell with what anybody else thinks- it is a great coupe and a helluva car in general. Good luck and post pix when ya get her on the road! Ed- 51chevcoupe
Well this one doesn't look too sweet with the rocker panels laying on the ground, either! To each his/her own. I'll second the call for mild custom. It's already mostly there - just fill those trim holes in the hood and trunk.
I see you had to replace the lower quarter/door jamb section... I had to do the same with mine. Nice thing about Business Coupes is they're already smoothed out for the most part... hardly any trim! Yeah, and lower that sucker! Actually, if you search the classifieds, I'm selling everything you need to put the front end down proper (shameless plug). -ns
Hahaha!!! As I was finishing up I realized that I was taking cues form that car!! Haha!!! Can't deny it's a good looking car.
Yeah, it's different car but similar too. I was thinking how good the coupe would look not incredibly low (sort of in the Valley Custom style of things) and perhaps sprayed with the Tatian '54 Buick hue. Simple and effective for sure.
yeah the SAMF chevy was a sedan. but i say don't chop it and lower it really nicely (no rake) i love the coupe roof, it's got lots of character.
I agree whole-heartedly! Sedans can benefit from a subtle chop. Coupes, not so much.. although some people can pull it off (Rusk's is looking pretty damn good) Stance is MUCH more importante'!
whatever you do start driving it. i've had more fun driving mine and doing little things along the way. in the past i have done the full frame off thing and its easy to get burned out and forget why you are building it. drive it. figure it out on the road.
Here, here... nothing's worse than endlessly working on something. It will suck the life out of you. At least have a cool beater ride to bomb around while you're working on the project.
Fifty2...if you need coupe glass, PM me...I've got a few pieces you can have. Liar!! I know you're a cutter... Newstranger,,,,I missed yer ugly mug at the Stitches show. I hope you found your 6" lingerie-wearing supermodel bass-player. Bryan
6" WHAT??? Keep yer finger offa that SHIFT key man! Yer gonna have people on here thinkin' I'm all fruity and shit! Either that or wanting auditions! Good Gawd...
LMAO!!! Yeah...6' supermodel sounds better. Or did you want the singers from the mini SIR-LOIN burger commercial? xoxo Rusk
Shit that was funny!....love the biz-coupes....if I didnt find my hardtop, I was going to find one of these....youre off to a good start.....I agree with those who said, build while you drive and enjoy it...I made the mistake of tearing into mine and didnt get to drive it for two years! Keep us posted....
