Got caught by the wife today

And she was pissed. I had told her that I would start her Merc next.
Over the weekend I picked up a cowl and a set of doors and the guy threw in a straight axle for good measure.
I decided I would set it up so I could easily work on it when I had time. She came out mad and yelling!
It Did not help that I started laughing.
So I will get the Mercury out of storage this week what a fucking beast of a car.
Really not that big of a deal but I had to smile that my time line and hobby were taken over by my wife.

Consider yourself very lucky. I'd love it if my wife was yelling at me to work on an old Merc. My wife is tolerant of my addiction for the most part but she gets excited about it (not in a good way) every once in a while too.

yea yea mine caught me sitting on the veranda and sipping a soda. She pointed out to me that the stuff isn't going to put itself together. Then she pured herself some soda and sat with me for awhile.

Oh BTW nice looking cowl and doors. How much drop does that axle have, about 6" or is it just the angle of the photo. The cowl and door used to be a sedan?

my wife said " it's me or the cars ". you know who won. I have 9 cars now.

 

I have been doing yard work for the past 2 weekends..sneaking in Car time at night.
Now that my honey-do list is almost complete..its back to the Shop!

yeah what a nag! lol wish my wife yelled about which project i worked on. instead of yell at me because i'm working on old cars. your lucky dude. do the merc. and be thankfull for a great wife.

 

These are the times I'm thankful for being too young to get married.

I am lucky that I have a great wife that will help me whenever she can ! She has paid for almost all my tools and had a 2 car garage built for me 2 years ago ! I am disabled and get a disability check so it doesn't go to damn far after I get my medications . I guess I am one of those lucky guys so if she needs something done , I make sure it gets done .
GOTTA KEEP THE WIFE HAPPY !

 

I love it...

My wife is cool with it...as long as I knock out my "honey-do" list, I can easily maroon myself in the garage for a build day...

Rarely do I get yelled at for not spending time out there though...

 

consider yourself lucky. I've been trying for years to get the wife to let me build her a car and still no luck. I got the silent stare yesterday after I ask what was wrong. "You've been in the shop the last month and we have not done anything!" Made the mistake and replied "what did you want to do?" Well looks like shop time will be limited for a few weeks.
If I could only find a body style she will get excited about.

 

Yeah, I wish my wife would piss and moan at me to work on a car. Instead she just pisses and moans about everything else I do and she wonders why I tune her out.

You're lucky that all you have is a "Honey Do" list. I get a "Honey, your life will be a lot happier if you get off your ass and do this" list. Did I mention that she has red hair, green eyes and is a Rivergirl? Honk her off and she'd gut shoot you and then bitch about you bleeding on the clean floor.

But she's just as car crazy as me, so I guess it works out right.

 

The way I see it if you want those "special Favors" and food get the damn mercury out and geterdone!!

 

I had my wife begging the other day, begging me to come out from under the bed and fight like a man. I tried to explain, that I would, but I didn't fight in her weight class. That just made things worst, for some resun.

 

I am married for 39 years and the best way to phrase it is that my addiction to fast cars and bikes is "cooly tolerated". She has never riden on a motorcycle and rarely in the 55 Chevy. Maybe 6 times in 20 years.
