63 Impala SS original drag car, they were going to slicks in the 60's and never finished the metalwork, it sat in a building for decades. great time warp car for cheap!

so why is their an airstream in that yard???

  11. Just my $0.02 here, but how about if you post a photo of a junkyard, PLEASE also post where it is, the name of the place, a phone number, etc.? If it is a "behind the barn find" and you don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet, fine.

I'll post some photos tomorrow of a yard between Las Vegas and Kingman AZ on RT 93. You can buy the WHOLE PLACE if you want to own a nice assortment of clean, older iron and the old gas station...???

  17. Here's a small sample of the goodies at Mountain Motors, near me in upstate New York -

There's plenty of good stuff there, not showing unless you look real close are a '49 Merc, multiple 35-36 Ford coupes, a '40 coupe, 32-34 trucks, 55-57 Chevys, etc.

    Um... a little history please?!?

  28. Here's a quick write up:

    http://www.atomicheritage.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=60

A friend found it in Grants, NM. It's in Albuquerque getting restored right now. It was a hastily stretched Packard that was used to pickup scientists (including oppenheimer) at home and take them to Los Alamos and Sandia and between the two during the Manhattan project. The center door is a metal frame with a fiberboard skin.

I kinda thought you were referring to THAT Oppenheimer but WOW. That is history. That is a find. Congrats to your friend. Thanks for sharing.
