Okay, if you guys were going to build a old school 60's custom truck... think Starbird, Watson shop trucks or customs... what ideas would you incorporate? Wheels, caps, wheel wells, grill treatments, tail light treatments, interior treatments... If you were going to build one today... say a best of the best...
id use a tailgate off a 56 nomad..and make the bedsides follow the swoop down..and the rear fenders follow that same line..catch what im sayin
Seen that thread... appreciate the link... just looking for full CUSTOM ideas... everyone has something they've seen over the years they thought was cool... if you could bring them all together, vision it...
there was this brown truck i saw a couple years ago. called la cacaracha (sorry to any spanish speakin folk) look for that truck.
I think the one with the side tilted hood was actually from that era. the red one is green/black/in scallops now.
the one with the tilted hood is the white pearl..my buddy tj pagano and his dad just rebuilt that truck...it was an unfinished 60s build. "I think the one with the side tilted hood was actually from that era. the red one is green/black/in scallops now."
If you go to the dictionary and look up '60's custom truck, you will see this pic. What a beautiful job your buddy and his dad did.
Appreciate it guys... keep em comin and the link to the other page... that is some killer stuff... braineater... your friend and his dad have alot to be proud of, that is a very beautiful truck...
That is a 54? f100 that was built by a friend of mine Merc John about 20 years ago. Has a nomad tail gate and a see throught hood. He still has it but he has not taken it out in a few years. Have some pics of it and will post them when i find them. This is my 53 f100. We built it about 15 years ago repainted it about 6 years ago GB & Thanks, Rick Erickson of EXK EXTREME KUSTOMS www.ericksonskustoms.com
Saw this a COBO autorama a couple of years ago, then found this picture on a web page. Sorry the one is a little fuzzy. Still way cool! Mel
Some ideas for 60's styling off the top of my head, not in any particular order: quad lights (see ALL above pics), even better with tucked in front fenders rolled pans asymmetrical accents (scoops, peaks, License plate openings, etc...) pinner white wall tires (BIAS PLY!!!) chrome wheels (reverse, mags, etc..) scavenger pipes (look killer on pick ups) bubble tops (if you want to enter the ultra radical) bucket seats with full length consoles metalflakes, pearls, panel paint jobs radiused wheel openings
