Event Coverage Rumble in Delano - Wichita, KS 5/30

For those of you in Wichita looking for a cool hot rod event:



This is a Pre 65 Traditional Hot Rod and Kustom Kulture Car and Bike Show going on in Delano on Saturday May 30th from 4 to 10 PM. Some happenings are killer cars and bikes, belly dancers, pin up girls , PBR garden, roller derby girls, live music, best pin up and best pompadour contest, food, art, official calendars and shirts, lots of vendors.

I'm DEFINATELY there but where in the world is Delano? Its about time we get another traditional car event in the area, should be a good turnout. Everybody put out the word!

 

Went last year with the tiki taxi what a great time, its like old school heaven. Can't wait.

 

The Delano district is just west of the river. Douglas is the street that it will be on if it is like last year. Last year was a great show and I'm hoping that this year will be even better.

 

Hopefully your POS will break down in Santa Maria so you can't bring it!!

 

HAHAHA it has to make it to santa maria first. getting on the road in 2 hours.

 

Wish it wasn't scheduled the same weekend as Heartland Park's NHRA national event...

No Delano is the neighborhood bordered by McLean on the East, Kellogg on the South, Meridian on the West, and Central/McLean on the North.
Westlink is futher West.

 

30 miles north of Bakerspatch, CA 10 miles north of Formosa Drag Strip. 70 miles south of Fresno. Just joking but it is there. home of Caesar Chavez.

 

OK. I just remember on the way out to Westlink on Central in the mid 60's there used to be a old school house looking building that said Delano township cityhall or something like that. It's been a long time ago.

 

Your memory is correct. The Delano Township Hall used to sit on the SE corner of Central Avenue and Ridge Road. Now it is a parking lot and a bank.

 

Some of the Kats are coming up to the show this year....

I just missed it last year and I'm looking forward to hangin out
in Wichita.

What hotel do you suggest?

 

is there more info on this show like anything goinig on before the show what is the fee to get in. is it kid friendly or a big boy show.

 

Where would be a kool place to stay???

 

The hotel at Oldtown is really cool..but I'm not sure about rates. It's not all that far from the show

Bunch of the Stray Kats are driving up early Saturday morning. Stopping by a few shops
and the Aviation Museum on the way up. We're looking forward to the show.

that hotel at 95th and greenwich is a damn good one, got folks meeting there around noon. blast off around 2 headin in..............

 

Is that the Marinelli Inn & Suites? I wish that I could afford it.

 

I hear its haunted, sleazy and cheap..............what else could a guy want!
