That guy seems like a great instructor. I watched the first one and will watch the second tomorrow. I felt like I was back in shop class. For someone learning to weld this seems like a great place to get started. I was lucky and had a guy that built cars for a living teach me.
+1 Thanks I haven't watched 2nd yet but I'm sure it will help my welding. I learned a few things in the first one.
Thanks Psychoholic my welding will have improved 100 % from watching this video. I built a trailer to carry my Hot Rod on after watching the Video I will be a whole different welder as I realize many mistakes I was making its heat management good welding.
I always thought MIG welding meant " Metal Inert Gas Welding" in which the consumable electrode (the wire) is continuously fed mechanically into the arc. Good videos but that example of "preheating' was a stretch for those two pieces of metal.
If that aint country I will kiss your ass!! We listen to Mr. Coe quite often in the shop. Well at least I do, the rest of them just think Im a crazy red neck from Ohio.
You Mr. Winfield puts out one hell of a video you all can buy, and it covers all forms of welding! We take Credit Card, Check or Money order. and can ship it right out to you. Contact Julie in the office at 661824-4728 Sincerely, Diamond Dewey
I do believe I'll be ordering that video payday. Thanks for the heads up! This is useful too: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/tutorial.htm I'm telling ya, in lieu of someone who can show me how to weld floor pans in person, teh intrawebs are great.
More: http://www.millerwelds.com/resources/video_library/ Anybody have this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsDxqb2p5OM http://howtoasap.com/mig _weld _automotive_sheet_medal.html Are these the Hot Rod Magazine dvd's people mention? http://www.howtoasap.com/hotrod.html Anybody have this one either? http://cgi.ebay.com/Instructional-G...yZ617QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 Or this: http://www.millerwelds.com/education/articles/article130.html My god the wirespeed on this thing must be humpin! http://www.millerwelds.com/swf/flv/flashvid.html?swf=MWME1.swf&w=320&h=213&v=8 Sorry for the flood fellas, I'm sure I'm not the first looking for all of this.
The HowToASAP.com videos look nice. I have the infamous Hot rod mag Dream Build Drive dvd. Its actually pretty good I thought (they put floor pans in a Chevelle). Any videos Ron Covell does are also HIGHLY recommended. I have the chopping and sectioning and metal shapes with steel vids. He also has some shop tours of other metal guys that are really cool too. I've seen the ebay vids advertised various places but don't know how good they are (never viewed one).
Looks like Northern Tool has the Covell and the ones from ebay: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/...=mode+matchallpartial&Dx=mode+matchallpartial Fortunately (despite the fact I live in BFE), there is a Northern Tool about 15 minutes from my house - I do believe I'll go get those this weekend too.
I expect a full report on my desk Monday! Must be nice to have a REAL tool store close to home. All I've got is HF or the traveling tent sales.
just what i wanted to see , a foreign welding video.. pfft quit buying chinese crap.. so Americans will have jobs.
Just finished watching Musclecar on Spike (ain't dvr's great) and they were plugging the howtoasap.com videos. They must have known we were wanting to about them.
