I'm laying out my wifes rod. A 1931 Model A RPU and I was joking about painting it flat black with pink steelies and whitewalls. She kinda likes the Idea, and I'm letting her have free reign on the desicions to a point since I am building it as kinda a gift for her, plus she will get into the Rodding even more that way. So anyone have picks of this? It would be cool to have a visiul before I pay to have the wheels powdercoated.
Well, If you buy a license plate frame that says HERS and never get behind the wheel yourself for any reason except designated driver I guess it would pass. It might keep you from jumping in it on Saturday mornings to run down to the local rodders coffee or breakfast gathering by yourself though. If Denise gives the thumbs down, it just isn't cool.
I have a buddy that painted a Nova wagon pink for his girl. She loved it and really got into the car culture because of it. Best I could do for the pink wheel request.
Might I suggest before you spend any money on powdercoating that perhaps you paint two wheels on one side pink and the two wheels on the other side a "normal" color, something that you think she might like, and then show her the difference in the car appearance. She might then make the "smart" decision on her own.
Lots of other colors to pick from. Coral like chaddilac said, light blue, light green. How about a candy purple? Lots of different shades of pink too, a darker shade might be ok.
Ah, within reason... Maybe not hot pink, eh? There are shades of any color that can be made to look good, depending on what they are matched with, a couple good examples have already been posted here
pink rims?? but then again that 53 chevy looks bad ass i would drive that, if done right i dont think it would look that bad
Those two examples (the cars) are making me think it will look pretty good. I'll show her and see if she still digs it. Thanks for the help Folks.
Some of the comments are "ghey"... Pink can be feminine, so what of it? There are a lot of pink accented customs and hot rods. My daughter's new Corvette coupe is going to be a hot Fuchsia Pearl with a black top and targa bar... not exactly the Barbie pink she was promised when she was 4.
