Coupe body in woods i.d.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by good_ol_boy, May 3, 2009.

  1. I spotted this coupe body while out riding my atv. It's near a trail that goes thru my neighbors property. I've lived here for over 5 years and been down the trail many times... and I've never noticed it there. There's alot of brush between it and the trail, so it's hard to see.... but since there's no leaves yet, this time of year...I just happened to look over and notice it. It's in pretty rough shape, as you can see, the whole bottom is rotted away. Anyone know what brand and year it is?

My guess is Mopar. Kinda looks like a Plymouth. There is a deck lid buried in there it looks like.

I'm not too certain about the Chrysler deal. When Chrysler had the dual cowl vents it also had the split windshield. The year before when it had the unsplit windshield it did not have the dual vents. Also those vents are not from what it appears actually on the cowl proper. Those two vents are in the hood shelve area and look like they would be covered with the hood on. Am I wrong on this? Look at that notch between the vents. That is usually there for making room for the hood hinge.

If the bottoms gone you could set it down atop your ATV when you score it and "cruise" home?
Hang your arm out the window and ...

    Neat find!

As Johnny Bondo and F&J stated, it's a '32 Plymouth PB. As Lowcab noticed, the vents would be hidden by the hood were a hood present.

It is not a Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge, Hudson, or Studebaker
