I was going thru my parts from my anglia and found the rear quarter glass,it had a el 1796 on it,anyone know what class that is?,the car was raced in the late 60's early seventies in south ohio,anyone know where i can trace the history of my car? i tries gassermadness ,he wont respond to my e mails,,,,,thanks,,,
All gas class designations had a G in them IE: A/G, A/GAS, AA/G, AA/GS, AA/GAS etc. depending on year etc.
Thanks,i knew the 1796 was your reg number,just didnt know what the EL was,thought it might of been a certain class,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,does anyone know where to find the history of the old gassers like my chopped yellow anglia that raced in ohio in the late 60's-early 70's?
El could also be the track that the car ran at. At most tracks all the cars that have a 4 digit perm. # like your 1796 they usually had a 2 or 3 letter or number for their local track. For example here locally we have 411 Dragway and Knoxville Dragway. The 411 points cars had numbers such as 411/ 1796 and Knoxville had kx 1796. I hope this helps. Scott
The 1769 is the NHRA registration number. The 1 meant the car was in NHRA division 1 and the car number was 769. At least that's how my number read. 6744 Division 6 car #744. I have no idea what the el meant unless the e was for E and the l was actually a "/" and the G was missing so it should have looked like "E/G". Being an Anglia and if it had a small block (300 ci approximately) it would have fit into the E/G class.
