Sweet ride, too bad you have to sell it. Still finding them all the time for sale though, a lot of these still kicking around.

Does your friend of the builder have any more detailed shots?

    Later,

  19. Just saw this thread.

I'm fond of Econolines but don't have one now. My dad used to love the pickups and had a couple new ones.

In 1972 my senior year in high school, I built a 63 Van and installed a 302 from a Mustang. (saw the article in Hot Rod magazine)

I used the stock 3 on the tree shifter to shift a 4 speed. Installed a PTO cable to engage reverse. I always told everybody it was a 4 on the tree.

It was all jacked up with 14X10 & 14X6 Cragars. Original yellow paint with "Arrow Laundry Service" painted on the sides when I got it. I had R.Crumb's "Keep on Truckin" guys painted on the sides over the old logos.

That ol' van was a chick magnet.
I even thought about installing a waterbed... then reality hit.
    Wish I had photo's.

I assume you are talking about the pebble pushers one. And I don't think they are the same. At least not from what I have found.

definately no. one is a falcon(with windows) and one is an econoline. the yellow one is driveable and every pic ive seen of the blue one appears that it is a trailered only van to show what can be done from the car club with airbags. doesnt even have a motor in it.

Ok... so I pulled the trigger and bought this one from jonnycola:

Here is the plan for it.....

White Pearl with heavy red flake. I'll do the interior in white and red vinyl with polished wood inserts. I may swap out the tires and wheels for Radirs and wide whites. Bigger meats in the back to give it a little stance. Zoomies in front of the rear wheels? you bet. Overdrive and A/C are high on the list as well.

Tell me about those reverse hinges to make suicide doors like in that picture. Where can you get something like that? Cool and very functional.Makes more sense than stock opening to me with long legs.

  29. Hidden hinge set up.
There is at least one thread on here that shows how to make them.
Otherwise, you can just buy a set.

This one belongs to a guy in my car club.. He owns a bottled water company called Alpine Springs... That explains the paint and the 5 gal water jugs in the van... Hes running a 347 stroker motor...
