Not a lot of metal flake in the brown, but it's brown. Gary

  4. I don't have a picture of it, but the most gorgeous brown I ever saw was a candy rootbeer...It was dark brown but when the sun shined on it , it just glistened like rootbeer! It was on a 32 ford. These picts were the only ones I had that were brown - not dark enough though!

seriously.... do you need any others?? Beautiful!

  7. Yes, in the 1970's!:p Serious, it was a hot color in the resto-rod days. Look through some old magazines. That said, that coupe that Chris posted gives me wood every time I see it!

If this is a Ford color, I think they called it 'Chestnut Brown'. I've seen '62 Fords in a very similar (if not the same) color and one of the interior colors in my '62 Galaxie looks like this--

Check on the color for a '69 chevelle. a friend of mine had one back when they were new. that's the nicest brown I've seen, very dark with nice metallic. Chevy didn't call it brown, it was something like Tawny Gold!

Looks brownish in certain light, but it's actually root beer colored.

    hahaha...not even close.
Its the Doyle Gammel coupe at the Nethercutt Museum in SoCal, owned by Bruce Meyer.
The Rodders Journal did a piece on it a while back...I'll dig out the copy and see if it mentions paint color details...stand by...

I have never been much of a brown fan, but some of these are actually starting to change my mind. I have not seen some of these browns before and they really look good.

I just had some PPG CONCEPT Single Stage mixed up for my motor, which i plan on painting the car with also. It's a Ford color from 1983 called Dark Brown Poly. It a nice dark brown metallic with a little dark maroon flake also. I'll try and remember to get a pic posted of the motor when i spray it.
