not sure yet on the pits, i may just stabilize it with something. Id love to media blast it but i dont have a booth, and im not paying someone to do it. this is a low buck ride. I just picked up a running bone stock chassis. once i find a box ill be puttin' around in no time.

It looks like a pretty solid cab to start out with for sure. The nasty part is just part of the fun! Gonna keep the 4 banger in the long run?

Use a metal prep etch on it [you can get it at a apint supply store] and keep it wet for about 20 minutes and rinse it off. let it dry and then use a good self etching primer sealer on it....

Thank god your going to paint it, I'm so damn sick of patina! Funny though, I have NEVER seen a car from 'in the day' that had patina.......

Ya the banger is staying. The truck will be painted a glossy black, with black wheels.

    i had the same problem
i made a temporary booth with thick mil plastic stapled to a wooden frame the materials cost less then a media blaster
you can even make frames that you can disassemble and put away for later use
i have to sand old thick laquer paint off my 38 big ass packard there's noway im doing manually and other people can pay you if you have the space and time

man, some of you guys go the distance when it comes to working too hard to do something easy and clean. flap discs are not the easiest way to get rust out of pitting...

  15. Yep, Naval Jelly is the cats ass but anybody who's going to mess with crusty old cars needs a sand blaster.
