Anyone ever hear of a Rogers quickchange. They were used in midget and tq midget racers. I need some info on this. I'll post a picture soon. Thanks, John
Here's a picture of the Rogers(name cast on case) quickchange i'm in need of some info. This is a magnesium case. Case splits in half with rear cover.Case is about 16" long. Thanks for any info,John
John .. May I suggest that you also post this on the ...... Vintage "Cageless" Midget Picture Thread ..... here on the HAMB too.
Never heard of a Rogers but it sure is a a neat looking piece. Hope we can get a little history and some more pictures of this one. Frank
don't know what exactly it takes but unfortunately it is for solid axle only. no open diff in that one!
There were a number of QCs and aluminum center sections built for Midgets in the late 1930s and 1940s, such as Bennett, Casale, Krech, Turco which were based on Willys rearends, but I have never come across a Rogers before....
A new one on me too. If it's using Crosley gears it's probably a TQ rear. The only other TQ quickchange I know of is the Acro unit. You might try contacting them, they might know something about it or be able to make parts for it. (?) http://acroracing.com/
Yes it does have a one piece axle. I have a Crosley ring and pinion but haven't had a chance to see how it fits. All the Crosley's had 5.17 gears. I do also have the gear change sets. I'm out of town but when i get back home i'll get some more pictures. Found a few on my camera Thanks, John
John, here are some pics of my Al Davis qc - I also believe it may take Crosley internals - unfortunately, I don't have anything except the case, rear cover and side bells. Steve
Here are some more pictures of the case and the pinion gear. It's not Crosley. Can anyone id this pinion gear and tell me what it came out of ? The ring gear had 8 bolts. Thanks for any info, John
There's a guy named Kem Robertson, a Boeing aerospace engineer, in Huntsville, AL who has spent the past 10 years or more researching Q.C.s and O.H.V./ O.H.C. cylinder heads as produced in the '20s thru the '40s. His intent is to do a book on pioneer mfrs of aftermarket racing hardware-if he can ever figure out a stopping point for the research. He probably knows more about Q.C. mfrs than anybody alive. You might try emailing him: [email protected].
The small 8 bolt ring gear makes me think of early BMC like a Morris Minor or the like. The pinion looks similar but looks waay short even for that (?) Maybe take it to a shop that does work on early Brit cars and see if they have a clue.
Still looking for any info on what this Pinion gear came out of. Someone thought Willys but i haven't found a picture of one yet. Thanks for any info, John
