Can anyone show me pics of any 1939 lassale convertibles are i have a chance to get one in great shape ?
Lasalle 'verts are spendy! If you can get a complete one, in any condition, plan on$10k-$15K for a builder. They go up in price depending on condition. I've seen several finished cars go in the $60k-$80k range.I have a 37, and a 38 coupe, and have tried to aquire a convertible a few times, but I'm not spending that much for a builder. Hope this helps.
Here is my 39 LaSalle convertible, just picked it up. It's been sitting in a barn for 19 years, has 59,000 original miles. Everything is there just missing some stainless steel, if anyone knows where I can find some let me know.
I had a chance to buy one in a bit rougher shape than this for around $1500. Mind you that was in 1979.......
I have some stainless off of a coupe, and some off a 4 door. Some of it interchanges. Pm me with what you need. That's a convertible coupe-425 built. They also built a convertible sedan.(75 built)
Diggin' that Maroon color on the front! For parts.... http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/partsforsale/lasalle/
There is an ALL ORIGINAL one that drives around Tarpon Springs, FL a lot. Owner also has a '46-'48 Ford Yellow Convert. TomK
As for scarcity, don't know but can't remember the last time I saw one live and in person. Guy in our club has a '40 LaSalle 4 door sedan, which is the only LaSalle I've seen in a long time. If you can get it at an affordable price, grab it.
Just saw a nice one today at the Old Gold Garage sale, guy named Decker out of Thousand Oaks. What he said, more or less: Two series, 50 and 52, like Cadillacs 60 and 62 of the period. His was the smaller, called the "Torpedo" body, fewer than 500 made. His was owned by Bill Mitchell, of GM. Started blue, Mitchel painted it white, now it's black. It's the Kind.
Brian these cars are poping up everywhere when will you debut your low low lasalle lets see your pics
