The front wheels are 17 inch dodge/plymouth the rears are custom. We bought 20"x5.5" wheel hoops and machined a flat center that was welded in to mimic the fronts. The plan is to attach some kind of hubcap to take away the flatness of the rear wheels.
All the full size Cherokees /Wagoneers from the '70's had six lug axles, and they are all Dana 44's. Pretty sure it's the same pattern as the Toys, and the junkyards are full of'em. Lots of aftermarket support in the 4x4 community.
I have a pair of Dodge artillery wheels that are 16 x 4.5 with 5.5 bolt pattern (looking for another pair). They're the same ones used on the orange Hollywood Hot Rods '32 roadster with the hemi in it.
Anyone know how the wheels on Frankenshine were made ? I read somewhere that he is working a new set, supposed to be "totally custom".
Does anyone know where you can find the hubcaps for these Plymouth/Dodge artillery wheels? Anyone repop them yet? I have a full set of 16" that I need caps for and they are an oddball size.
I have one 16 inch 6 lug wheel that can be shipped anywhere in the us for 40.00. it does have some rust around the valve steem that could be all the way through just not sure but the center part is good. pm me if someone wants it.
I believe Wheelsmith is making new artillary wheels. I caught part of it on Livin' the Low Life with Vida.
Try the classifieds or at least a little subtlety..... I have some wheels labeled as chrysler by previous owner that are 16". Does that sound right??? Sorry cant post a pic tonight but was working on them today and will post a pic tomorrow night. What other brands etc are the early Ford pattern as Im off to harrass some restorers this weekend If someone with the info could put together a table with these wheels incl sizes and the original make etc maybe others besides myself could really benefit. Thanks guys.
Here's mine and the tyres I picked up today. Do they look like Chryslers as the previous owner stated?
Pete, I have a set of 1935 Plymouth 16" that look just like yours. I ordered a set of adapters for something else (I'd have to look it up) from wheelkid here (Rallye America) so I can use 32-35 Ford wire wheel hubcaps.
We have run them at B Ville on our V4 Banger for going on 5 years and they look great. As far as street use I don't know anyone that has them.--TV
16s Thanks for the info re the caps vintagehotrods. Got them back from the blaster today and will be two pack black by the end of the week.
Not wood spoke. They are custom made based on 32 Stude 18" wheels. There have been posts on Shine's wheels before, I believe. Lookin for a few of these wheels if anyone knows of any...
