things are crazy at the shop, so my mind is in alot of places. i'll TRY to remember to shoot one tomorrow.

the glass man told me to call him in the morning to set up a time to set the windows, and the muffler guy is on anytime time.

    that hood latch sucks.

  5. update...

the glass man was a couple of weeks behind as of last week. said to call him the first monday of april (week from today)

once we have glass in it, we just need to figger out the pull in the front brakes and she's road worthy.

still need a hood latch if anyone has one or wants to buy the one in the classifieds and donate it...

My offer still stands to pay shipping both ways to have it repaired..... If I can't fix it, I'll send the one off my '52 and deal with mine later.

How far is Lodi from you guys? I'll buy the one in the classifeds if he can get it to you unless shipping is cheap. I sent you a PM and offered some money and never got a response. I don't have much but i want to help.

What an amazing gift of generosity. Cheers to you all

  21. i'm waiting for french to get some space. once he's clear we'll get the glass in, and have fredy do the tail pipe. after that we'll get it back to the shop for a once over.

i promised mrs. alteredpilot that i would stay out of the shop for a couple of weekends. so probably the 2nd wknd in may. the owner can't drive the car right now any way so there's no rush.

we gotta get back on the smiley coupe first....

When you go after the pull, check for bearing wear, unusual shoe wear, shoe binding, or hardware locked--up, and brake lines collapsed. I aint got nothin' ta send, cept my $0.02 at the moment. maybe I can add more monies next week to hep'.

  23. we've already had all four wheels off and all four brake assemblies apart. everything is in good shape for the most part...

the easiest thing would be to just replace all 4 cylinders but for now and thow an adjustment at it, but since they aren't LEAKING (just kinda seeping) we're gonna let it go on adjustment. when the owner is ready to start driving the car, we'll revisit the issue.

I found rebuild kits for the front, but no completes. at $13. each kit.
I found rear cylinders for $60 each. I also found someone with parts cars and sent email to ask about 49 front cylinders to rebuild. Would that help?

  28. as luck would have it...
i talked to the glass guy this morning and we're taking it in tomorrow. we already have the window gaskets so it should be a pretty straight forward affair.
after glass it gets a new tail pipe.

This is going to be a really nice car when you're done. Hopefully as mechanically sorted as necessary for years of driving.
