I am looking for some good ideas for a 51 Chevy tail light treatment. the top is going to be chopped 3" and a extra 1" out of the roof skin but the stock tail lights need to have a subtle change. was going to put 50 Buick in but after the trip to the junk yard today realized the Buick light was way to big for a Chevy hard tops quarters i will try to post pics of the car tomorrow.
50 Pontiac, 53 Chevy, 54 Mercs If you PM Ill email you some pictures of the ones I custom make for the bumper guards.
Lightly sinking the Buick lens in might be an option I want to keep the parts on this car in th GM family so ford lights are out. with the headlights smoothed the taillight with the same treatment might be an option. The car is going to get a removable hard top but other than that major work it will be a classic mild custom. the skirts have been dropped 1" to even out the lower edge of the car. i will try to post a picture when i get into work. Rex
How about some cadillac tailights? The thin long ones. Think there on a late 90's? Not really sure. Seen them going down the road.
Here is a picture of how the car sits now i think i will wait on the tail light until i get the roof cut and that will help me decide on what the car wants for tail lights. Thanks to everyone for the great ideas, trying to think outside my box and with my head up my butt. Rex
My 54 has 59 caddy bullits. My quarters are extended about four inches around the taillights and they are double stacked, not side by side.
I saw in an old little book that a guy put 55 Chevy lights on a 51. Looked damn good. I also would think that 54 Merc would look nice or 53 Desoto to bad you want to keep it GM. HAHA
These are my turn singals in the front stock bumper guards but I sectioned them 2 and 1/2 inches I can do this for tail lights too
