Close it if it sounds dumb...
Andy showed us how to fight hard to the end, and taught us how to appreciate life while we have it. He died trying to grow up like us hotrodders...
Nothing makes less sense or is harder to cope with than a person dying way, way too young.

How about a small HAMB Plaque simply commemorating his name and dates??
Seems like the firewalls of 10,000 old cars would be the best place for a little memorial.
    Red, not black:

"Tell all my mourners To mourn in red - Cause there ain't no sense In my bein' dead."

  4. Sign me up for 2, I'm sure Andy's family could really use the proceeds to help out in these hard times.

  5. I'm in for one.

BTW, Bruce, I love that I can get a Langston Hughes quote as well as arcane but wonderful early Ford info from you. The diversity of knowledge the HAMB provides is a continual source of amusement and amazement to me.

I'm in! Great idea! Something like the brass HAMB plaque would be cool.

This might sound really stupid, but maybe you could get the option of having Andy's name on your alliance tag for this year only. Many of us already consider him part of our builds, this just formalizes it.

    im in.

  13. The brass tags are nice. Much heavier than the Alliance tags. I like the smaller size too. I agree with DocWatson. The design could be someting similar to the blue RIP "sunburst" that Ryan has in the header right now.

That being said, I imagine Ryan has his hands full. Someone here might need to get the approval from a Andy's family & Ryan & make it happen.

I'm down. I'll hang it in my shop for keeps (cars get sold) as a reminder that things aren't so bad for us....it's a shame Andy had to remind some of us just how bad things can get. Wish I coulda met him.

I would be in too. Maybe find a charity that relates to Andy for the proceeds? Approved by his family of course.

I'd like that also, heartbreaking when it should be coming into the best years of life.

Might fine idea! I'll go for one, as long as Speedway doesn't copy them.
