Just got done picking up this chopped 36 cabriolet !! I'm stoked , body is cherry , original carson top and all the parts came with it . Built 59A , 39 box , juice brakes , rumble seat , bitchin' old upholstery . Came with a picture dated 1948 of it just getting home from getting the carson top done . I'll be going all the way with this one and adding pictures as I go .

Great score, I'm pretty sure that I have seen the old photo in an article in some magazine or book at one time.

HMMMNN When I was very young, my dad had a 36 cabriolet chopped and the top installed at Carson Top Shop. We lived in Huntington Beach then. I have a photo somewhere that my mother had. The car was black.

Here's some more pictures . We threw the carson on it and mocked some other parts up , I don't have those pix , they are on my buddies camera . My friends Allen and Jake blew it all apart , Jake got busy on the bodywork , Allen is checking out the engine and trans . Guy I bought the car from had receipts for $5000 on the motor and $1000 for the trans in 2004 , put them in and it has been sitting ever since . Trans was full of water ! So much for the rebuild , Allen will handle it and luckily the engine was kept dry . I'm hoping to paint it black , re-do the carson top in white , run the wide 5's maybe with spider caps , 600 16 Firestone wide whites , maybe Zephyr bumpers , 37 banjo wheel , 39 tailights , maybe black and white/all brown or all black interior (deciding still) Body is ready to pull off the frame and I'm hoping to get it to the powder coater Monday or Tuesday . I got some nice 36 Ca. plates and a lot of little trinkets I've been saving . Going to raise the front a little (swap the dropped axle for a stock one ) and drag the ass (who's got steel skirts for sale ?) . Guy I got it from asked maybe it'll be ready for the roadster show next year ? I said maybe for the show THIS year !! We'll see . Sincerest Thanks and respect to Allen and Jake . That black car on the checkered floor is kind of the final product I'm dreaming of .

A pretty wealthy 67 year old guy that got hit on his motorcycle in 2004 or so and stalled on his project. It was covered up installed in the car , I think 5 years of condensation running down the lever and no gear oil ever put in = no bueno !
