I was hoping all those individuals who have done something different to their 48 - 52 fronts grills to give that kustom look to their car. It doesn't have to be drastic or it can be. Just post what you've done so that we can get some ideas. Also, has anyone used a 55 oldsmobile grill piece and used it in a floater fashion? Thanks

My '51 has a '53 grill surround and I'm trying to figure out a nice floating bar so I'll watch this post.

Have you molded the 53 surround in already? If so, please post a picture. I'd love to see how it looks. I have a 51 as well, stock grill....

I sliced the big ridge with a cutting wheel, then hammered and dollied the area and it's now round and smooth. It was pretty easy. I've seen guys put a whole new piece there, but i didn't think it needed it. Once you knock the big one down it's not so flat anymore. It came out nice and once i put some filler it'll be perfect. Perfect for me!!

They're different but both cool!! Im rounding the hood corners today, it's kind of an eyesore those square corners , everything else is round but that. As far as painters i got a lot of responses from local guys and when im ready im gonna do some serious shopping. My father in law is flying in for two weeks on monday to help me finish the body perfect. He's an amazing bodyman and upholsterer. So i should have the car finished in primer very soon!! I am so fucking close!! 15 months later!!

15 months isn't bad when you think about it, cause when its done and in nice high gloss paint and nice interior you will have one of the "it" customs

Everything i've done to this car was all researched on the HAMB and other sites prior to doin' it. I don't know WTF im doing, but i sure have a passion for it!! Thanx bro!!
