    Big Ken...a question for ya...........

We NEED to test and tune on Friday with a 65 Dodge that I am prepping for the NMCA races. Will it be ok to make a couple of passes on Friday with this car?...we will send it home to Houston that evening and come back on Saturday with our 63 Ford and Conway's blown 55 Chevy for the Thaw.

I'll be there with a shit-ton of vintage cameras and expired film.

... as most of you know, I had to sell the shoebox to keep a roof over my head.
Sorry to disapoint, but no 21sec flathead passes for me.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Mark, Friday night is 'Fun & Grudge Night'. Anything goes. It's open to the public to race anything, and everything. Bring that bad-boy out, and I look SOOOO forward to seeing the '63 on Saturday. You said you might have 'models' of it available? That would be cool.
    Thanks man

Not the Red car, "Big Red Ram", that one I finished up with updates last month and it is back in Houston. Dave had rotator cuff surgery and may not be able to drive the 4 speed car...I have the "Black car" now and am getting the new 582 incher and automatic ready for Bradenton just in case. We will try and test on Friday before the Thaw...I have made plenty of changes to the entire car. It was running as a bracket car with 14x32s, trans brake, air shifter and a twin dominator/tunnel rammed 540..best effort with this all steel car, hood only in fiberglass, all real glass was [email protected] for a bit better with the new setup.........on 10.5wx33s, all steel floors now, no trans brake or air assist..new hood and scoop, Indy box manifold with a pair of Edelbrock 850s, new seats and plenty of chassis updates underneath. Will attempt to fire it up tomorrow for the first time.

Just to keep everybody up to date on things from the Texas Timing Association's end of the Torque's Texas Thaw, 15 hot-ass vintage race cars have checked in to come run or cackle. They include front engined dragsters, fuel altereds, the Gizzlehopper, both Scorpions, the Widdle White Wabbit, and cars from both the Junior Fuel dragster and the Outlaw Fuel Altered associations.

If the indications we got from traditional hot rodders at the Dallas Autorama last weekend are accurate about who's coming to the Thaw, there will be a huge turn out of cool pre-64 cars to run in the eight heads-up classes and the bracket category. Remember, even if you get eliminated in your class, you can still enter the bracket category and keep on racing.

Class winners will run off against each other for the two eiminator trophies (Street Rod Eliminator and Hot Rod Eliminator), then the eliminator winners pair off to see who wins the Top Eliminator trophy.

We're really jacked up for this thing. I'm coming Friday evening to get in on some of the Torques famous hospitality at their Fajita and Chili bash in the pits at Northstar Dragway during the night-time Test 'n Tune before Time Trials for the Really Big Deal begin on Saturday morning.

    See ya there.

just talked with ED, I really like this idea of being able to run in your class
and then having a separate bracket class for those that want to run in it also , or to be able too get back in and keep racing
and then the bracket finals, sounds like a lot more fun
and alot more racing for every one.

any one bringing a flathead :cool::cool::cool:
