I've been looking for a pair of Fenton cast iron headers for a sbc, but haven't had luck coming across any. A buddy of mine called me yesterday and said Patrick's Antique Cars and Trucks has an ad in Hemmings for new sbc Fenton headers.

So, I called and sure enough the guy is finishing up machine work on the molds. He expects to have them ready for sale in about 8 weeks. I can't wait to get my motor together and in the car with these on there!

When I talked to them yesterday, they said about $300. The guy took my info and wrote down he told me $300 just incase they end up being more.

They had a merge tube originally, but I'm thinking about running 4 smaller diameter pipes out the back for my project.

I just called as well. Got my name on the list. The son told me this will be a limited run of about 500 sets. Same for the Ford Y block. Pricing for the SBC was estimated between $350 and $500. I can deal with that. One more step toward a period correct sbc.
Take that, anti-bowtie shit talkers! :)

I understand that you cant run them with side motor mounts.

I've talked to Patrick Dykes a few times and have friends who know him well. He's honest but often is way off on production schedules. So expect some possible delays.

  16. Is this true? They look like they would clear side mount motor mounts.

  17. NO SHIT! Keep us posted. Do you mind posting the guys info who is making them.............like a phone number?

The front collector is pretty much in line with the side mount. There's been a pic posted on here somewhere of a car with sidemounts that go around the collector.

I owned a set of those up until a couple of years ago. I sold them for some really good money to a guy that just had to own them. They will NOT clear side motor mounts for sure! They don't fit any hot rod chassis's very well as the dual exits are in the way of lots of things. They sure look cool though and with enough persistance I am sure they could be used.

Got the call today. Three bills for those on the reservation list, jumping to four when the advertising runs. Patrick told me 10-14 days from now, to my door, post paid.

You guys better call. I have to pass. My accessories and motor mounts are incompatible. :(

    That's what he said.

  24. What is it that you have that make them not work?

They are buit for front mounted engines with high mount accessories. I have side mounts and a low mount alternator. I could move it all, but that's a lot of work for a fairly restrictive exhaust. With my engine build, I really need more exhaust flow than they will support.

  26. Patricks is about 60 miles from me so I going to get a set real soon.

I was on the wait list, too. I have since bought a set of originals. Patrick just called last night and for $300, I thought I'd go ahead and get some spares. ;)

Also, he said he only had 200 sets made, so get'em quick! I'd be happy to compare their quality to the originals, for anybody that's interested.

The car illustrated above has a front Hurst-style mount for support of the engine.

Man I would love to get a set for 265 but with the way they dump I don't think it would work. I can't even use Ram's Horns without it interfering with my steering box. those things chromed or polished would be killer.
