This is a cool truck. I would like to know the same thing.

  3. Well I posted a couple months back with pictures of my M1 project. Well it's official..... Just insured it for a year, put plates (tags) on it. and gave it to the wife. She found out she could stuff about $150 worth of groceries behind the seat and two bottles of wine in the glove box.
Goes in for glass Tuesday but other than that she's pretty much done. It's a driver.
Many thanks to the members on here who provided ideas and support.
    Total build cost....... $3,000

Loose... that is killer rolling shot. You guys are lucky to have such a cool photo of the 2 of you rolling together. I think your truck would definitely look slick in a satin silver.

Thanks for the copliments on the M1 and the photo. The photo was shot by Eddie Wayne in Austin, Tx. He sent some edited versions and some unedited. This one is an edit I did in photoshop using one of his unedited versions. It is one of my favorite pic. of the merc truck.

    Below:
here's a great looking truck in satin silver, but not f1...
sorry guys for the o/t pic. post. If y'all want it removed, post on here or p/m me. I'll be happy to delete it from this thread.

    heres mine...and shes for sale...

She aint perfect but i love her just the same! but i have to let her go... she has a 350/350 combo and a dana rear... she runs great temp never gets over 190 and thats screemin on the highway the interior is original stile(its been redone) it has the original suspension..runs like a champ did i say that? the bed is beautiful nice wood. bright red shes a looker definetly an eye catcher if ur into that kinda thing. now for the bad. the driver side fender is a lil rough it has been repaird since the resto and it wasnt buffed you can also see the body work not really bad but its not perfect.. the hood as a small hole in it were the when the fan broke it came up and hit the hood.. the windshield has a small crack in and the driver side window is busted(damn kids)

Just got her home. A little rough right now, but excited about my first project. I probably will have tons of questions to search for on here. The wheels and john deere green parts will have to go. Its still on 6 volt with the 223 6 cylinder and 3 on the tree. Not sure what color to paint it, but I don't want to keep the yellow.

  11. Thanks.... The t/w combo in the still photo actually belong to my son (61 Merc below). I borrowed them for a while to be sure I would like the look. His are 15x7 rear, 15 x 6 front smoothies with coker classic 235/75-15 rear and 215/75-15 front. I liked the look so, but did'nt like the spiders over the uni-lug pattern, so I bought 15x7 rear and 15x6 (with a different offset from his) o/e chevy gennies. I didnt really like the ride or handling of the classics so I bought BFG's, 285/70-15 rear and 215/70-15 fronts. Thats is whats is on it in the rolling pic, but I added another still pic that shows those better. The truck has a 77 camaro clip, its ugly but it sure rides good.

  12. Yeah Im glad to have that picture and this one to look back on. Thanks for the silver suede pic, that makes me feel better before I start sprayin'. I'm thinking that color with a little striping and a few scallops. Maybe I can nail the look like Skratch did for you...he is an awesome striper....

you gonna paint it brian? nooooooooooo.
that is a great shot of you and your son. that one needs to be blown up and put on the wall. just a great shot!!!!

  14. He and Emily did that for me at Christmas with one of those priceless quotes at the bottom. Clay took the pictures while driving his Olds, he takes great pictures. On painting the truck....I am really tired of the black, first because I've tried 4 different types of paint, but the sun KILLS it all. As much time as mine sees in the sun, I just cant seem to find anything that will stand up. The Polane paint I used the last time worked pretty good for about 3 years but last year it really started going away.

here's a friend's '56 in silver. too bad it's in a lot of shadows. it really stands out when it's in the sun. at one time the front clip was bolted into a 1-piece and front-hinged. he got tired of that and put it back original. bed is all hand-made with original steel fenders. engine is either 429 or 460; i can't remember squat anymore.

i drove it half way across kansas one day; it's a show truck for him but would make a really (and i mean reeeaaallly) sweet driver.

A buddy of mine came and picked me up sunday and we went and looked at a bone stock 54 thats been in a garage for 20 years... He wants a shop truck for his painting business but he really wants something older.. This this is solid for a 54. a little rust here and there but all the stuff is there although 20 years ago the guy started to take it apart.. Looks like 2k will buy it. Im almost thinking of talking to the wife and then calling my buddy and tell him ill buy it if he doesnt. I was thinking i could just re assemble it and hopefully get it running and make a few bucks. I need to be careful because i lost my job of 31 years 2 weeks ago but i sure could use a project while im looking for a new job.. It gets pretty boring sitting at home.. You guys think 2k is a good deal for a really solid truck? Its a v8 but i dunno what size it is but its origonal.. Also whats the cheapest way to lower one of these? Id like to buy it and just keep it but im not sure thats an option right now either..

  27. Thanks....as mentioned in a previous post it has a 77 camaro front suspension. It has stepped a-arms and 1" dropped springs and a large trans am sway bar. The rear end is out of a 81-82 malibu with posie springs, it has a 3" c-notch and ordered to length shorty shocks. Its not my daily, but I drive it alot, usually at least once a week to work which is about 85 miles round trip and it rides and handles great.

  28. Thanks... You guys are quickly convincing me that I will like the silver suede
