How much pressure does it take to stop it with the original mechanical brakes? I'm guessing you have to be fairly strong.

That is some great Americana, and should be in the next calendar.

    Nice ride and ingenuity:)

That is some good thinking on using the 32 parts! I'd never heard of doing that.

I really appreciate the compliments from some of my most respected friends on the HAMB. That really really means a lot to me. Thanks again guys!!

I'm really happy with how the drop looks and have a huge grin on my face every time I walk out into the garage! I'm also glad my car will no longer be the reference point, higher than all the rest of the cars, in which people use to find the bathrooms at car shows! "They're over by that Model A coupe roof sticking up!" haha

    To answer a few questions:

The axle was dropped by Joe's Speed Shop in Ponca, Oklahoma. This is their website. http://www.joesspeedshop.com/joesproducts.htm
Great guy and top notch work. (Hope you get a few sales from this Joe!)

Haha! So much for the "unbreakable" starter bendix. See you in April!

Little old ladies bought these cars back in the day and they managed to stop. Don't need to be strong at all. Just like regular brakes. With mechanical brakes in the right adjustment you can lock up the tires at a stop light!

If you start at the top of the spring pack with the smallest leaf, I removed the 2nd and the 5th leaf of an 8 leaf spring.

Thanks! The picture below is from 1953 and I've been using it as motivation. I like to think my coupe could have been a slightly earlier version of this one.

I see why you want a nerf bar now, and one like that would really look cool. And the dropped headlight bar will really finish it off.

When I opened this post I expected a fenderless slammed to the ground car. Your car was a pleasent surprise to say the least, love it.
