Anybody interested in a Dayton OH. area H.A.M.B. get together?

Would anybody be interested in a H.A.M.B. get together in the Dayton area. Maybe meet at Quaker Steak (3275 Presidential Dr. Beaver Creek, Oh. 45324 937-427-0500) for lunch.

Well the Road Devils are having a show up in Mt. Vernon at the drag strip up there in May.

 

Count me in. If the weather is right on whatever day you choose I'll drive the coupe. Hell, I had it out today!!! Third time this year already.

 

sounds cool....heard they got a new dragstrip there....old airfield ?

I plan on attending that event !

 

Lets Have one at Kil Kare drag strip...but quaker state would be fine though. Just let me know when and where.

A long time ago I met a man from dayton ohio while at speedweeks in daytona. Ran into him several different years. he had a a bar called Claytons Torsion Bar. is he still open? I know he liked race cars, bikes and had a lot of women with him.. I would come but its a long drive and a little to cold. .... Bobby...........

If mines out of the body shop by then I'm in. I'd really like to do a Kil-Kare get together,my Dad used to take me there when I was a kid.I now live up by Lima,I've not been there in 30 years. Giz'

 

my car isnt done yet o well ill catch some get togethers later in the summer

Cool...I'll make some calls this week, and try to come up with a solid date. The get together at Kil-Kare, sounds like a great idea also. I think they open around the beging of April. I'll see what I can find out. And hey 64Olds, don't worry if your cars not ready, just come on over and meet some great folks.

 

If the weather stays nice like this, I'll make the drive to dayton.

The track that the road devil's show is at was built in the 50's and hasn't really changed much, other than being shortened to 1/8 mile, in the 50+ years since.

 

Same with Kil Kare, it was ther in the early 50's. It Hasnt changed at all, and its still 1/4 mile too. I think Kil Kare would be the place to meet. That track has alot of history. Its also "The Home of the Road Knights" (a 50's car club)... Everyone from Don Garlits too Ohio Gearge Montgomery ran there in the late 50's

Dad used to be an announcer there back in the day, he was there and helped it start up. I got to take the coupe down the strip late last summer. So I'm in.

Some of my friends rent out Kil Kare drag strip the same weekend every year for just them. You can run as many times as you want. That would be a good date for a Hamb get together. Ill have to figure out what day they are doing it this year.

 

I spent WAAAAY too much time there in my youth. I worked for the guy who sells the event tees there. I also shot an award-winning public access TV series there too. Got many of sunburns courtesy of Kil-Kare...

 

Kil Kare would be cool! I remember going there as a kid, when the Dayton Bunch was around
