    I really like #7...
Very clean looking and presents itself well. Just cool all over...

Well, I figured as nothing more than a model car nerd my natural choice was gonna be the Black Widow, and it IS a beautiful piece of work but I've always felt the model (and now the 1/1) look way better without the "decals" on the doors. Never could stand to build a model just like it looks on the box...

...And #7, Tom Branch's gold '32 just jumps outa those thumbnails! That car looks like it's moving fast, standing still in that side shot. The color, Stude wheelcovers, channeled stance, pipes, ...everything, is just perfect. If I go by the "which one would you want to take home" test, that one's far and away my favorite!

Thanks, Ryan for this forum and for letting an armchair enthusiast share in the choice for the H.A.M.B'er award.

I went with the Jimmy White build. But could somebody explain to me WTF is with
the headlights? I've lived and been in the car seen in So Cal for most of my life.
(67 years). We never ran shit that looked like that out here.

This car, in my opinion, is the epitome of an indoor show car. It's beautiful in every aspect. It might not be the car I'd most likely want to build/own out of the choices but it's timeless. A car that can hold it's own now or a half-century ago gets it in my book.

  8. Gotta say that this was/is a tough choice. All of those cars are well presented and I would take any one of them home.

Interesting the amount of EJs out there on them this year.

That said, I like Dick's car. Just have to love that Salt-racer/Indy feel. But if I had to have a day-to-day car, it would be the Tub.

There's definitely a line between perfection and overdoing it!

Ryan - This looked like a lot of fun, until I started doing it. Now I've made my choice, but I need a nap. Great work (as usual) from all the builders - congrats! But every car here has labor oozing from it and now I'm exhausted from looking at all that elbow grease! You builders think building 'em is tough? I've never had to judge 'em before - yikes!

  12. The stance, color and simplicity of Branch's Deuce just speaks to me. This was a tough decision, all are beautiful. I voted based on the one I would most like to cruise.

  13. This to me was just as hard to vote on as the "Tech Month"... However as beautiful as all the Roadsters were... I had to ask myself which ones would actually be "Driven" to the dry Lakes or the Dragstrip and It boiled down to 2 cars... Jimmy Whites and Tom Branch!

And I know for a fact I've seen Tom Branch's Roadster at both events and that is why I voted for it!

Besides I've modeled my Roadster on that car as well as Bobbleeds roadster!!!

  16. hardest vote ever!

  17. That car has been haunting me since I was a youngin. Has some serious salt history. I got to see it run a few years back, even chatted with the guys, I think it blew that year? So that is where my vote went.

It came down to #7 & #9 for me. I loved the blue exterior, the Interior, and the mixed wheels on the Dennish 32....But...the Branch 32's simplicity grabbed me!

All are beautiful in their own way!

It was a tough choice between this and #7 for me, but the pics of Chuck's
'27 do not do it justice. It's outstanding in person. Great group of cars to pick
from though. It'll be interesting to see what really wins.

tough choice. I ended up picking the black widow.

bigger brighter pics (not thumbnails) would have made it easier...

  22. #1; it follows the same theme as my '28 Tudor.

#2 Varnas car. It shows an incredible amount of thought and they took some risks that work.

    Tom Branch Roadster hands down

    Period!!!!!!!

  26. What a dick! This thread was to pick a winner. NOT to voice your opinion on why you don't like this or that. Funny a statement like "Look@my money",coming from a guy who loves to show all his expensive vintage cars...
If you weren't gonna vote, why not just MOVE ON?

Although I didn't vote for it, I must say that the Branch roadster has by far the best "display" This car looks right and sits right and the spartan background really does it justice. It is positioned just right and Ryan's photos nailed the angles and perspective. I think the car show displays actually do several of the other cars a disservice. You don't get to see the street stance when the car is propped up on a display.

I voted for the tub. I like oddball stuff and the craftsmanship looks outstanding.
