2009 VIVA LAS VEGAS - Shifters car show registration open - Updated info.

Hello everyone,

We want you all to know that registration for our 12th annual Shifters VLV car show is now open. Complete registration details can be found at www.VIVALASVEGAS.net

Show dates are April 9-12th, 2009 . This is the first year that the entire event will be relocated to the Orleans Hotel & Casino,and it is located at: 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. Las Vegas, Nevada - Telephone number is (800) - 675-3267.
Out of the 1900 Rooms that the Orleans facilitates they have just notified us that they have sold out.

200 rooms have been blocked at the old location - The Goldcoast Hotel & Casino. They are only 1/4 mile away and their contact info is (800)-331-5334. When you book a room be sure to mention "Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly weekender"

We have a lot of things in store at the car show. Ernest McIntyre from Gasser magazine will have a line up of historic 60's fuel altereds ,dragsters, and Gassers.

Vic Young and friends will have a special Willy's Gasser display.

Gene Winfield will return again and bring another surprise for all to enjoy.

Mooneyes,Barris,Tom Hensley's Burt Munro Worlds fastest Indian,Weesner,Pinstripers from Japan,Burn out magazine.

We will have a special roped off corral of authentic 50's style Kustoms on display including Topper House's chopped,channeled,and sectioned 55 Merc, Jeff Neppl's 50 Merc, Robbie Radcliffs 50 Shoebox, Brad Masterson's 49 Chevy,and many others.

Like last year, we will continue to emphasize "Quality - not just Quantity" in the car show.

Expect to see great Bands,DJ's, over 50 vendors,and other special displays once again.

We will be given an all new fenced off car show lot that will allow for bleachers on the back north/west side of the area for everyone to relax,take great photographs,and hang out.

Last years car show attendance was approx 20,000 spectators and close to 1,000 cars.

For those that are in to music VLV 12 will have one of the best Band line ups ever. Just some of the entertainers you can expect to see: Lew Williams, Johnny Powers, Dale Hawkins,Harvey Fuqua of the Moonglows,Otis Williams of the Charms,The Go Getters,Dave & Deke combo,Big Boy Bloater & the southside stompers,Royal Crown Revue,Kin Lenz,James Intveld,The Barbwires surf band, The Aquasonics surf band,Jack Rabbit Slim, and many many many more. Plus, over 20 Top DJ's from all over the world!

Don't forget to see the sexy Burlesque show and competition, the TIKI Pool party,and over 200 vendors throughout the entire Orleans grounds.

How many cars at the show this year, Axle? My wife had so much fun, people watching, at Viva, she wants to return.,

I WILL DEFINATELY BE THERE. Plus the venue this year is in a nicer area. Lots of room and wont be crowded like before. This is a must see show.

 

THIS WILL be my 11th year in a row! wouldn't miss it.
I hope to be able to change my gears to 3:55's before then. it would suck going 55-60 mph the whole way!

 

my wife and i are going we got our room 10 months ago. im hoping my 51 is done by then...that's the plan!!

Based on the pics from last year it looks to be in a great spot and a lot of fun. How could you not have fun in Vegas? Wish I could make it...but then again I have been saying that for 12 years now

Man, sounds like another awesome show! Out of all the shows over there in the USA, Viva Las Vegas is by far the one that I'd most like to attend.

got it on a good rumor that a "few road rockets" will be in a caravan headin out including a chopped desoto, a 31 chevy roadster pick up and a 60 caddy with a stude in tow!!!!!!!

we look forward to this show every year and we do have a blast !this year with the new venue that im sure its going to take this show to a whole new leavel of excelance.axel realy does a lick ass job every year organizing the car show , music and all its festivaties .yes folks its all about friends you havnt seen for awhile ,family ,the killer cars ,tons of venders ( yes gambino kustoms will be set up ) music ,good food can you say barbaque yes my friends axel sure dose know how to throw a party and party we do for a fucking week lol! cant wait to make this drive ,and a killer drive it si in hot rod or kustom car, speaking of driving any one you folks from the bay area wanting to drive with us pm me we will most likly leave wens we usaly drive to bakersfield or tahachape then finish the drive to vegas the next day .after the VLV event on monday or so were making the drive to austin for the round up

This will be Eleven years in a row for me, always great time.

Them Colorado boys have been planning for a while now, looks like 6-10 Lonely Knight rides will make the trek with a few friends to boot. Two '40 Coupes, a Deuce Roadster, a '60 Caddy, a Chevy Sedan Delivery, a Studebaker, a '55 Olds, a '57 Olds, a '55 Caddy, a '50 Chevy Hardtop, and possibly even a Model T Coupe.

And maybe, just maybe an Edselero if a certain dipshit gets his ducks in a row. Don't want to mention any names but his initials are Curt Stechert. C'MON BOY !

Ah Vegas baby!! All I can say is, if you can make it, then be there. One of the best shows in the country. Between the Shifters Car Show and all the music going on and all the good people, it's a no miss good time. Axle buddy, I wish I was going to be there. Maybe next year, but I know some of the other Road Rockets will be there.Take care my friend!

I'm working hard to be the 57 olds that Johnnie is talking about. At this point I'm on the right track and should have it up and running for the big road trip. Can't wait the viva show kicks ass!!!!

You must be one hell of a busy man, with no sleep! doing such great work on all these show promotions.

Viva Las Vegas is one show I always look forward to see the photo postings on the hamb. There are always many great cars showing up there. I hope one day I can visit in person.
