Is that El Matador behind it and Daryl Starbird in front of it?

Starbird was shooting a commercial for his car show in Wichita. That is the El Matador....and the Coffin is the original car...he just got done rebuilding it.

That was always one of my favorites. At the risk of blasphemy, I think I like it more than Roth's Beatnik Bandit, but the Bandit would be a close second. The lines on that car just look a lot more 'mean' and aggressive. Good thing you got that tip! Cool way to spend a day.

Hot Wheels, car shows and my old man are why I'm afflicted with this sickness today. I wonder how many of us would be into this hobby if it wasn't for Mattel and Revell.

i had the model with the little skeleton, i took the skeleton apart and placed him sitting in the car right hand on the wheel and left arm resting out the window, a cool car for sure.

It looks like kandy paint to me, but I could be missing something. the frame, engine block steering and carbs all look like kandy paint, not modern dichrome.I think he did a wonderfull job of restoring this car. you should have seen what he started with. and A man in his 70's can still kick most of our ass' when it come to building cars. he has built over 100 hand built radical kustoms not just some mild shave and chop job. VERY RESPECTABLE IN MY BOOK.

All we ever see in a Walmart parking lot is snow.
