Art & Inspiration The Mother Of all Dash/Gauge Threads!!!

Here's a '56 Olds Dash cut down in my dad's '29 roadster, 'El Tiki'. No other guages anywhere. It still uses the factory HOT, COLD, OIL, and GENERATOR idiot lights that work well with the 324 Olds mill.

 

Here was what i did with mine.....1928 rpu with a '32 style brookville dash. The guage panel is from a Mercruiser boat, stainless. The gauges were 4 old SW's and one 1930's AC speedo. and vintage SW facet cut dash lights. It looked pretty cool.

 

any idea what these came out of?

 

I can't remember other than i believe it's mopar. My friend has that exact same gauge cluster and i think it's 1940's. I wanna say '48.

 

I had one all picked out for my '36 till I seen this one!

I never took a picture of it or I lost it if I did. I am still pretty pumped about those gauges. I need to go down stairs and mock some shit up, i'll be right back.

Here are two photos of the dash in our '39 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible Club Coupe. The steering wheel has been restored and I'm planning on painting the dash, etc. the color I have on the door garnish moldings. I found an original radio and have all the original style dash control knobs. Hopefully I'll have the dash finished some time soon.

OK guys,time to flex you imagination muscles.
This dash came w/my 54 chevy p-up project.This one fits the truck but I have looked at a lot of dashes & have not found one to match.Is it 54 /5 Chevy?
The round holes are 4 1/2" wide.What would you do with it?
anyone have a clock that will fit the clock 3" housing ?
1st one to say "Junk it" gets a cyber ass whoopin'.

 

I measured my analog airplane clock and it's a little over two inches, maby a trim ring, it's pretty classy looking, they sell them cheap on ebay a lot. what will the rest of your gauges look like? you could find an antique mechanical clock thats non automotive and fit it in there, would be different. as far as the gauge holes might have to use adaptors, or do some swap meets with a tape measure, there has to be something that will fit in there.
