I love this shot. The early days of tri-5 gasser/street machine popularity, circa 1960.

    A few pictures of my 55. I've had it since 1977...currently running a 454/ Muncie 4 speed, narrowed 9"Ford with 4.86 gears.

  8. ...here's my favorite 55 that I've owned, a 210 tudor with a six, stick overdrive trans. It was a former Hires Root Beer salesman's car, you could barely make out the lettering on the trunklid. photo from mid-to late 60's.

Looks great just like that. Black wheels, thin whitewalls, no bumper.

Hey Ramblur, That is a really nice photo history you posted. I am sure those oldie-times pics strike a familiar chord with a bunch of others besides me..
What's with the floorboards and rockers tinwork? I thought only those of us stuck up north had that kind of lower rust problem!
I was just looking at similar pieces and wondering how well they go in place. Any observations?
Am I reading right that you got your same car back in 2006?

Haha. The wagon came from Minot,ND before I bought it in 75.I grew up
in Ohio(Rust Belt Central) so even though there was very little rot when
I got it, and I put it away for the Ohio winters I did drive it about 3 yrs. in
OK before moving to FL.It was my daily up until 87 and pretty much
everthing I owned would still fit inside. It sat outside in Florida for a couple years after I took it off the road and that probably did the most damage.
As far as fit and finish I'm pretty happy with the CARS Inc. stuff. If I were to start the job now I'd probably use the one piece floor with the braces
already on it.(wasn't available at the time)
No,I've owned it the whole time,it just had to set for a long time while
I built a business and raised some kids.Hope to have it back out in a
couple years but I'm knee deep with a 65 Impala wagon right now rehoning
    my skills.:)
Funny story: Drivers door is getting reskinned/replaced cause a girl I "knew" in high school puked down the window opening and 30 yrs. later
the bottom of the skin where she puked is pinhole city.
    Glad you enjoyed the pics.

The reason I asked is I remeber a 55 around 98-99 up there that was completly taken apart.

A year or so after it disappeared a 150 showed up around chandler in primer, tubbed, blown, and a full cage. I assumed it was the same car because of it being a 150 and in the same area. Its painted yellow now and I occasionally see it at the main street cruise ins.
I might have some pics some where, I'll see if I can find them.

  27. it was 96 or 97 when it left me, so this could be it. i heard the guy at mills' blew it apart and was going to put a nova clip on it. don't know if that happened or not. i have not seen the yellow one. i have been out of the loop for awhile. i had a red 66 impala with a cowl scoop that i traded to bill wilder for my merc. you may have seen it sitting in front of his shop for awhile before he sold it.
