  9. ok, I'm friggin embarrassed to show these for two reasons:
    a) this shoulda been finished years ago
    b) it's rusty and full of parts and stuff because it had to go outside for a while

...so please be kind...It's back inside now and my priorities are getting to where they should have been eons ago. hoping to get the bodywork done(finish chop, new tulip panel made, stretch doors, etc) by the summertime..one pic is obviously photoshopped to fill in door and tulip area and cover up some of the surface rust. I've not seen any (tri-5) post cars where the back window looked good or that the flow from front to rear was nice so I made a few simple cuts and removed about four inches of roof skin at the backlight(tapered cut;less material at the drip rails than the center because of the shape of the window and the fact that it would have to lean foward a smidge) and cut the c-pillars out to move them foward also...if I moved the c-pillars and window any further foward, the tulip panel would be far too long and I'd have to lengthen the deck lid.. the backlight is sunken and leaned foward until the surround butted up to the roof skin where I had cut it..obviously have to trim the c-pillar as it has only been cut away and not trimmed and put back in and also a million other little things to be addressed but this gives you the idea
...oh yeah, it's been cut 3 1/2" in the front and around 5" in the rear(the window frames arch upward before heading back down to the c-pillar on these cars and I wanted to cancel that out)

We built this back in 1981-82. Tried to nail down the look of a custom from about 1961. Sometimes I run full wheelcovers and cruiser skirts as well.

That's the money shot right there--that '60s interior is right-on! The pale yellow paint is pretty sweet too and also very '60s. Killer score for sure.

If not for the modern car in the background (and the digital date) this photo could be right outta' 1960. Nailed it.

My '55 and my daughter's '55. She wants to do early '60s style with candy paint, white interior, and chrome rims with spyders.
